Too close to LAX's landing zone

Posted 03-Dec-2016
We opted to stay at El Segundo LAX Doubletree Hotel in order to get sleep the night before our flight, epic fail. We were up all night long listening to the airplanes land all night long.

Nice hotel in quiet city.

It's just convenient to travel LA city here and there. During my stay, I've been to Universal Studio, LA downtown, and Santa Monica beach. This hotel is located in very quiet and safe area.

Great hotel and inexpensive early check-in!

Posted 15-Nov-2016
Pros: I don't often give 5 starts for every aspect of a hotel, but we had an excellent stay here all around. We called in advance about early check-in as our flight arrived at LAX at 6:30am and the front desk was very accomodating and put a note on our reservation, plus they charged us the lower fee of $25USD instead of $50USD, which was wonderful (the higher fee is usually for check-in before 10am). Great value for two guests and the room was ready within an hour or so. Early check-in isn't guaranteed, but luckily somebody was checking out when we arrived. Starbucks and Ralph's is walking distance so we grabbed a coffee and some snacks while we waited. Our room was on the top floor, a corner room with wonderful views. Clean, spacious and comfortable. Airport shuttle service to LAX was on-time and had an excellent driver, he knew how to avoid the worst of the traffic so we made great timing to the airport for our domestic flight the following day (by the way, we chose to taxi from LAX to the hotel rather than use shuttle). Zero complaints for this hotel! Will definitely return.
Cons: We have no complaints about this hotel for our one-night stay.
Location: Starbucks, Ralph's, PizzaRev, Walgreens & more within walking distance (no more than 10min walk). Free shuttle to LAX was 20-25 minutes in traffic.

The staff was super friendly. The facilities were nice. The gym was great. Breakfast is too pricey. Overall really enjoyed my stay here and plan to use again.

Ok for LAX stay

Pros: Close to LAX
Older hotel in need of an upgrade. It was somewhat expensive for what you get but it is close to LAX and quiet.

Hotel was nice

Posted 26-Oct-2016
We arrived at the hotel at 11 as we had just gotten off a cruise ship. We weren't able to check in until 2 but we were able to use the pool. We had to ask a couple times for towels. The pool area is very nice though. I thought we were going to have 2 queen size beds for my family of 4 but it was 2 full size beds so it was very rough sleeping Also the breakfast buffet is NOT complimentary and I wish they would have told us that before we ate there.
