Was not overly fancy, but very, very clean. Owners were super Friendly and accommodating. If you want a clean and friendly place to stay without breaking the bank, I suggests this motel

Old wooden door was a fire danger as it got stuck every time you used it. Had to open it by using shoulder and to get owner to show us and he used his knee! One face cloth was dirty as was one of the towels. Could not open the shampoo without scissors. Black mould at back of sink. No fan or exhaust in the bathroom. Should be a shower cap.

Property was very clean and convenient for highways. Outside seating area. Property does seem old fashioned and in need of some upgrades. However price reflects this as it was good value.

Stopped for the night heading to Quebec City and then again on the homeward trip. Nothing fancy. No pool. No continental breakfast. Quiet. Comfortable beds. Very basic. A place to spend the night. Right on Highway 2. The area in general has very little to offer for dining. We ate at Subway. Don’t ask for a lemonade. It seems to be a foreign concept.

Long Sault as a town has nothing to offer tourists. Even finding a place to eat on Mondays is a challenge. The Lion Motel is small. No breakfast. No pool. A small room with two comfortable double beds. Highway 2 is the original highway before the freeways were built. Think of the movie “Cars” and the old Route66. Enjoy your stay.

Enjoyed the deck with great views of St. Lawrence River. Can easily access the Waterfront walking/cycling path from motel. Wonderful breakfast/brunch restaurant across the road by the river.

Clearly an older hotel doing the very best they can. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. WiFi worked well. I'd stay there again.

Never stayed at property. Man at office was rude and for a place that was pet friendly is NOT! Wasted my time driving to motel. He also told me he is not online and never even got my reservation.

I am sorry about the misunderstanding. We did have your reservation but the room that you reserved was not pet friendly. We have only 2 pet friendly rooms which we rent on first come first serve basis or by calling us prior to the arrival. Pet-friendly rooms are not available through on-line bookings and it clearly states "Pets not allowed" on Expedia under policies.

The owners were very helpful and even though they were short staffed the Easter weekend, they offered a very good service. The location is very convenient, reasonably priced and the area has many things to offer.

Clean and restful stay at Lion Motel! They just upgraded their mattresses and we slept super comfortably! The check in time was flexible too- we were on the road later and called to let them know, and the were reassuring and available for us when we arrived. Easy check in and check out!

We are sorry that you felt our rooms are overpriced, but even though prices for everything has gone up drastically after COVID, our rates haven't changed much. Extra coffee pouch can be requested at the front desk.

The staff was friendly. The room was not very clean, there were dusty cobwebs attached to the lights that had been there for some time. There was black mould around the caulking of the sink, the bathroom and whole room in general was in great need of a deep clean and update ( replace caulking, paint, etc).

I am sorry to know that you did not find the room as per your expectations. As we did not have any help this year because of the labour shortage, it's been very hard for us to keep up with everything, but let me assure you that most issues will be taken care of this winter.

I didn't actually stay in this motel. I can tell you that the woman I spoke to reception was extremely pleasant and kind. She cancelled a last minute reservation without any charges although she had every right to charge me for the full night.

Lovely room overall! Bed was comfy, bathroom was clean and shower had good water pressure, and it was so close to the Long Sault Parkway for biking through the islands!

The staff we're rude and made me uncomfortable as soon as I arrived. Thet refused my reservation because I had dogs, despite advertising as a pet friendly location. I had to go somewhere else with my family of 4, after traveling across 2 provinces.

We are sorry about what happened, but as we tried to explain you, we don't offer pet friendly rooms online. On Expedia, it clearly states under policies, "Pets Not Allowed". If you would have informed us that you were bringing 2 pets with you, when you contacted us a couple of times prior to the arrival, we would have informed you at that point. As you were being aggressive about our policy and with us, we had to cancel your reservation and there was no charge.

This was a nice little motel. I found it spotlessly clean. Older of course and certainly nothing fancy, but it sure served its purpose. Only complaint was the beds needed a pillow top. They were really hard and I woke up sore.
