nice hotel but wedding party up and down hallways

Pros: the pizza and restaurant when i could get it
Cons: time limit on loud music and parties
Location: interesting older town by the ocean
restaurant had excellent pizza. hard to get service due to wedding party. very busy

What went wrong..

Pros: Good location for visiting family. We used to live in the area before relocating to Virginia.
Cons: Hotel Mgmt needs to consider a complete renovation of hotel rooms and common spaces.
I have stayed in this hotel previously, but the conditions have changed dramatically. The rooms carpet was dirty and stained, bathroom wall paper was peeling off the wall, cracks in the plaster ceiling, and the a/c unit had differculty maintaining room temperature. When we arrived the toilet bowl needed repair. The hotel manager was kind and gave us free breakfast, however the breakfast buffet was terrible. For the price we paid my expectations are much higher than what we got. I don't think I will return to this hotel in any future trip to Long Island to visit family. Very disappointed!!

Didn't even go to a room. The hotel smelled horribly, the environment was seedy, you could see there were some problems. The main floor guests had curtains wide open sitting in their rooms with no tops on. There were mattresses leaning against the window not on the bed frames.

Nothing Special At All

Pros: Sleeping and waking up to check out.
Checked in and when they took my credit card, he told me they would charge me $50 for "security". He spoke very broken English and I had to ask him to please repeat what he was saying more than once. I figured they just need my card in case we trashed the room (we are in our late 50's), but when I got home, the extra $50 remains as "pending". It's been 3 days now. They seem quick to put the extra $50 on, but are now taking their time removing it from my "pending" charges. Carpet had stains, light when you first walk in did not work, no fan in bathroom. Went to lobby to use the computer and it was out of order. No sign. I was fiddling around with it quite a while and then I was informed it's out of order when I asked the front desk why it wasn't working. No complimentary coffee, tea or water offered in lobby as in other hotels. I can see no reason I'd choose this hotel again.

Pros: Cleanliness and comfortability.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind at this time.
Location: Proximity to shopping, restaurants and entertainment is great.
Hotel staff were very courteous, attentive and professional. Check In and Check Out process was easy and quick. Staff were well versed in providing good customer service to its patrons. Job well done!
