Central to Londonderry

Posted 24-Aug-2016
Pros: Close location to historic Londonderry.
Cons: A fridge would have been handy
Location: Right next to the Derry Wall which provides a good walk around the historical centre and easy walking distance to Free Derry Corner and its Murals.
Great location with easy access to the Derry Wall and other sightseeing sights, cafes and restaurants.

Central location right next to the historic wall

Posted 29-Jul-2016
Pros: Location was great
Location: Plenty of museums within 5 minutes walk as well as being right next to the historic wall. Only a short walk to the river and also the shops were close
Had a fantastic stay. Would highly recommend the hotel both for location, facilities and for the friendly very helpful staff. Close to shops and all amenities and also very close to all of the locations we wanted to visit. People from the city were very friendly and helpful and also a good location to use as a base to visit other sights such as the Giants Causeway which are a bit further out.

Pleasant stop for night in Derry

Posted 02-Jun-2016
Pros: Quiet, clean. In the middle of the city, but easy to deal with parking.
Cons: Rooms should be delivered as advertised.
Location: We were just driving through, but normally there seems to be quite a bit of historical interest in the town as well as a large shopping area.
We were driving South and decided to stop in Derry as the sun was starting to set and choice the Maldron because of the offer of family rooms with a double and a single, a room with a view and cheery yellow linens in the photos (as well as other positive reviews). Unfortunately, even though we were treated to a lovely golden sunset up on the hill the Maldron is situated, we received no view, no cheery yellow linens, and no family room. The room we had booked 15 minutes earlier on expedia was not available and we had to take a double which was readied for us in 10 minutes with a cot, but the room had very little color in it. The view out the window was another wall of the hotel unless you disabled the safety catch on the window and stuck out your head to see the river and walking bridge. I really had expected more. However, at the reception we were greeted by a very helpful young lady who was very apologetic and switched the room she did have available for a larger one that could fit the cot. I appreciate that overbooked is overbooked and didn't complain although I would certainly have liked a discount to have been offered. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and we all slept very well in our quiet room. My wife also enjoyed a bath in the good sized bath tub. The free wifi worked well in our room and we all were very happy with the included breakfast. Free parking in the basement.

Great location and hotel!

Posted 30-May-2016 on Orbitz
Great hotel right in the middle of the walled part of the city. Steps away from the wall walking path and also close to the areas outside of the wall. The hotel itself has a car park which is quite nice in that area with very limited parking. Room was fine, small but in good condition. All basic necessities provided. The hotel staff was extreme welcoming and courteous at all times!
