At first I was a bit disappointed because my Tower was a bit 'rundown' / needed some TLC & my 'window view' was truly awful. However, given the location near Waterloo Station those options are limited! BUT that impression changed as I settled & realised what value I was getting for my money! My very compact double en- suite room had everything one could want - already aware there were limitations. It was clean with generous linen supplies & complimentary provisions. The Staff were friendly, cheerful & helpful. The Food was superb, although I only had the Breakfast Option this time. My Compliments to The Wellington's Chef David - his presentation has flair & he should consider entering Professional Master Chef & could stand a good chance of making the Finals! It has a large,well stocked & very busy Bar & Restaurant area decorated with historical murals; filled with happy patrons from lunchtime on and many big screen TVs, showing all the Sport.The Location of the Hotel on South Bank is excellent in terms of Transport Services & easy access on foot to many of London's Cultural & Tourist attractions.The Wellington Hotel is steeped in a fascinating history of its own & I was sad to leave after my two night stay. I would not hesitate to book in there again - if I am lucky enough to get in! (Foot Note:The accommodation area is not suitable for those who are Physically Challenged as there are no lifts & the stairs are narrow, twisting & steep.)

Lovely room as always with free beers and soft drinks in the fridge. The hotel area of the pub (stairs and carpet) are in dire need of a refurb but overall it’s a great place to stay with a good breakfast. My work here in London is coming to an end and I’ll really miss this place 😢

Great hotel, great staff.
Our stay at the Wellington was exactly what we needed. Friendly staff from check in. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable and despite being right next to the train line the noise didn’t keep us awake. The coffee bag were a welcome surprise and a lovely touch. The bathroom needs a little work as it was tired and could do with a bit of shelving and somewhere next to the sink to hang the hand towel. Breakfast was fab, and overall I would rate our stay as excellent.

Not too bad. The only thing I didn’t like was the long skinny stairs to get to the room. Hard to carry my bid suitcase up the flights.

Great stay. Very clean. Staff very accommodating. Extremely close to Waterloo station which is fantastic for touring London. 20 minute walk to Covent Garden. Close to London Eye, National Threatre and War Museum and many more. Second time here and we will be back.

Excellent facilities and efficient staff - no complaints. Nice touch to have both complimentary water and other drinks in the room along with usual tea and coffee etc. Lovely traditional pub with plenty of seating - good beer selection and whoever chooses the playlist makes great choices!

A lovely clean, comfortable and stylish room. Yes, you will need the earplugs provided due to it being opposite the main entrance to Waterloo station (note the underground exit brings you out on the higher storey!) Rainfall shower, fluffy towels, decent sized fridge. There's steps up to the rooms because it's an old building. Breakfast selection was good, fresh pastries, cereals, fruit, cow and plant milk etc. And a selection of cooked breakfast to order. The only slight feedback I have is that I requested the poached eggs to be fully cooked. I clarified that I meant "not soft". Unfortunately they came out soft poached. This isn't just a preference, people with compromised immune systems need to avoid certain foods being undercooked. I didn't send the breakfast back because I didn't want to have to explain my reasons, but perhaps some training with your staff would help avoid this in the future. Otherwise, a great place and I would certainly stay again.

This is a very unique hotel. It sits atop an English Pub just a two minute walk from Waterloo Station. We had an early train from Waterloo and this hotel did not disappoint in it's location. The breakfast was AMAZING. We had all the convenience of a typical hot English breakfast. We did not leave with an empty stomach. The staff was incredibly friendly from the evening check in to the morning breakfast dining room staff. Be aware that if your room is on the top floor and you are carrying large suitcases that the staircase does get a bit narrow. Once upstairs, however, the room is just enough for two people and the bathroom has all the amenities one would need from body lotion to shampoo/ conditioner.

Wonderful, accommodating, friendly staff. Great location- bus and tube right across the road. Fantastic delicious breakfast was included. It was very hot when we stayed but we had a fan in our room and a window which opened. Would stay there again and highly recommend!

Easy walking location
A comfortable stay at the Wellington. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Yes it’s above a pub and near a train station but the pub closes by 11 and the trains do not go all through the night. Would stay here again!

Nice stay
I was generally very impressed with the quality of the rooms and overall hotel, however the one thing that let it down was the amount of noise at night. It made sleeping very difficult which wasn’t ideal as I was up early the following morning for work.

Great location across the road from Waterloo Station. Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfast. No lift. There was a shelf over the small sink so washing your face and shaving in it was difficult. Overall, a nice, handy place to stay in London. I would stay there again.

Absolutely horrible experience
Awful experience Would NEVER book at this hotel again. Check in was in a pub??? The room was small and dingee and the continuous noise from the overhead trains was the worst thing ever!!! It never specified this in the booking page. I was conned in this booking.

The Wellington was a great option for my stay, as I was attending a seminar nearby, and it is handy to transport and shopping. The stairs up to my room were a bit of a trek, and the noise from outside could be an issue, but I use earplugs anyway for sleeping. Friendly and helpful staff, filling breakfasts, and I was able to leave my suitcase there for a few hours on my last day. I did ask at reception for an iron, which they advised they did not have.

Great Location
This pub house is so charming! And right across the street from Waterloo station. The location is perfect. Breakfast is complimentary, and while there aren’t many options it is very tasty.
