Good hotel. The decor is a bit tired in places but overall decent value for money

great location

Posted 25-Jul-2016
Pros: location...location...great for theater. Some days we saw two shows- matinee and the evening premier.
Cons: air conditioning!!!!
Location: all the landmarks are within walking distance.
Staff are friendly and really nice. Special Thanks to the front desk and concierge. I wish I knew their names.

Location Location

Pros: Location
Cons: Soundproofing
Location: Close to Covent Garden , Thames, South Bank, Trafalgar Square, Westminster +++
Very large hotel on The Strand . Ten minutes walk from Covent Garden Tube station. Small rooms with no AC. Bathroom small but modern. Bed hard but not too bad. Inroom safe was not working. Walls between room need soundproofing. Also doors to corridor.

Finally a London hotel with a good shower

Posted 23-Jul-2016
Pros: Actual shower with sufficient water pressure, location, staff. It has an old world, yester centuries' charm.
Cons: My room did not have an air conditioner but there was a fan. Which is OK but then there were not enough outlets to accommodate all my electronics.
Location: Very central, close to many many public transportation, the river bank, galleries, museums, everything that is London
Hotels in central London can be nightmares; especially because of the water pressure and lack of bathroom space. Strand Hotel is a classy hotel that welcomes you with decent facilities and staff. Highly recommended

Old fashioned decorated hotel

Posted 22-Jul-2016
The whole decoration since entered the hotel was 80's style and the lighting was kind of dark with neon lights. Stayed in single room and it was small, as expected in London. Decoration is more modern, with basic amenities for a 3-night stay. Close to Charing Cross station (still a 400m walk though) and close to west end and famous theatres.

Not very satisfied.

Posted 19-Jul-2016
The place is centrally located and that makes it ideal but the standard room is very small, i could hardly move. I asked for an upgrade and made to pay 60 pounds. So hot, without AC, that you can help but wake up early. The room is very clean though but still, it could be more.
