Not for tourists

Posted 31-May-2016
Pros: Very clean and friendly staff
Cons: Not much, I blame myself for not researching the hotel before I went. This hotel is for business travelers
Location: Great location, very close to a lot of major tourist attractions and about 5 minutes walk from Charing Cross underground station
While the hotel was very nice, clean and served great food it was not what I was looking for as a tourist looking to have fun and do some sightseeing. I felt very out of place wearing a t-shirt and shorts on most days as most people there were in full business attire. Also my window did not close all the way so it was quite noisy at night from outside.

Perfect for theatres & exhibitions

Posted 27-May-2016
Pros: Price & location
I am a repeat visitor to the Strand Palace. Their staff are always perfectly courteous & the rooms are very clean, modern & comfortable - all at the right price! For me it is a prime location for theatres/concerts on the South Bank theatres/concerts, the Opera, West End theaters & various Galleries for art exhibitions. Would not stay anywhere else.

Good location, friendly staff

Busy hotel in good location, nice service, decent restaurants onsite if needed, friendly staff. Room itself was good and decent size given in central London ..... and accept you will never completely escape the hum of London traffic.

Pleasant hotel close to London's main attractons

Posted 24-May-2016
Pros: The lounge bar is spacious and comfortable. There is also another bar, formerly called the Mask Bar, now the Gin Palace. Restaurants, too, OK.
Cons: The rooms are generally OK in their facilities, but not all have air conditioning. You can, however, specify this as a requirement on booking.
Location: You are a walk away from Covent Garden, the British Museum, the Courtauld Gallery, the National Gallery and the National Portrait Gallery, & theatres.
This hotel is an old friend of mine: I've been staying there at least twice a year for 9 years. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and (as indicated in the title of this review) it coudn't be better situated for access to some of the main attractions London offers.

Sites of London

Posted 23-May-2016
Pros: The hotel was fantastic. In the middle of the theater district and kinda in the central hub of most attractions. Loved this location.
Cons: I would want BA to have booked seating when we paid for our flights. Not happy about that at all.
Location: This hotel is near Big Ben, Travalgar Square, walking along the river Thames, National Gallery. These are all in walking distance and all the theater.
We started our trip not being able to sit together on BA. So disappointed. We booked 8 months in advance. They should be able to have seat assignments when booking!! It was just my husband and I, not a big deal, but it was! London was great nice city to visit and explore.

Not for me.

Posted 23-May-2016
Pros: Must say the receptionist who checked me in did a faultless job. Other staff less friendly.
Cons: Operations need to put the whole customer experience under the microscope and revert to what this hotel used to be about.
Location: Location is a plus point.
Apartment from the hotels location I really can't get excited about this hotel. It requires total refurbishment and air conditioning in bedroom stock. I rember when this hotel belonged to Trust House Forte Hotels and the customer service first class.
