Perfectly situated and functional hotel

Posted 19-Sep-2017
Pros: Location. Has lots of single rooms which is better value for solo traveller
Cons: Nothing really
Location: Lots to do nearby
Business rptrip to London. The Strand Palace fulfilled all requirements and is in a great location near Covent Garden. We eat in the Duke pub just along the road which was nice. The room was small but perfectly functional single room. Huge hotel but didn't feel too busy. Not sure why I need to write such a long review for it to be accepted. I don't have anymore to say but it still says please add a bit more to your review. Blimey still a bit more..what to say.

Great location. Room a little disappointing but as we were out most of the time and it was a short stay, it was suitable.

Pros: Location location!
Location: This hotel is in theatre land!
Great location, bit pricy for what as the rooms are very basic but stayed for the location. Staff are pleasant but not memorable apart from the door man was lovely!

Pros: Location

Location: London eye, Big Ben, parliament , Covent Garden, Piccadilly Circus all within walking distance. All theatres are also within walking distance.
Central location, within easy access to all attractions. Very close to underground stations & theatre district

Nice hotel but poor room

Posted 06-Sep-2017
Pros: The Facilities in the hotel were good. The decor was nice and the staff were very friendly.
Cons: Cannot think of anything
Location: Location was excellent and close to all of London's main city attractions.
The Hotel looks very Grand from the outside and also in reception. However, the room we were allocated for our 30th wedding anniversary was so small and cramped for space. We had no view whatsoever and had to keep the wooden shutters closed as there was a tower of scaffolding right outside the window. The bathroom was also small but adequate. We did not dine in the hotel so cannot comment.

Perfect Location

The hotel and the staff was fantastic. Location is just unbeatable. A lot is easily within walking distance and several underground stations 4-5 minute walk. Will stay there again.

not great

I'm really glad this was part of a great deal and technically free, or I would have demanded my money back. I booked a standard king size room, with 1 king sized bed. what I got was 2 twin beds pushed together and a sheet thrown over them. because of this it was very uncomfortable. under the bed I found wrappers and trash. the carpet had crumbs in the corners. the sheets weren't changed by the cleaning staff, just the bed made every day. in the bath area it looked like it either had dirt piled up or mold around the water areas (base of the faucet handles, corner where tub meets wall, etc). breakfast was sub par in my opinion for £18, but I'm a bit of a picky eater. this was definitely the worst 4 star hotel I've ever stayed in. the door man was fairly friendly, and the rest of the staff was decent enough. the only thing that was really great was the location. it was right in the center of london, with anything you could want a very short distance away. definitely would not pay to stay here again.

Only 2 lifts for almost 400guests, stopping in every level and very very slow, have to wait about 15-20 minutes before the lift arrives, most of the time the lift is full and you have to wait for next lift which comes crowded.
