It's a bit of an odd hotel. I'm not sure if it's trying to honour the 1970s aesthetic, but the build-out, the feel in the corridors, the finishing on the tiling, the paint-work.... it's not quite what I expected. The interior design, service, items in the room are pretty good (but no iron or ironing board, which I guess communicates that they don't want corporate travellers). The dining and vibe in the common areas is really great. The Fairmont nearby is often at a similar price, and offers a very different feel that might be better for some travellers.
