Although the hotel is listed as a 5 star we felt that overall we had stayed at better 5* hotels. We feel the main aspect that let the hotel down was the level of service. We stayed on a Saturday night and there was a wedding going on. We appreciate the hotel was very busy but surely a 5* hotel could deal with this. There were dirty glasses left on tables in the late afternoon on Saturday/evening. Also, we felt that at dinner and when we were waiting in the bar it took too long for a waiter/waitress to come to us.
My husband ordered a further glass of red wine with his meal which didn't arrive - little things like this all make a difference to your final impression of a place.
We were placed in the main part of the hotel which is the older part. Although the room was very nice it was very warm (despite having a fan). You might like to request to be in one of the wings if you require a more modern room.
Another point I noticed is quite a few of the staff didn’t look as presentable as I think they should for a 5* hotel (messy hair etc) I also noticed one of the girls skirts was ripped.
Overall the hotel is very nice but I think it is far too much money for what you actually get.
