Overpriced for a standard hotel
Fairly overpriced for size of the room , bathroom lovely but separate toilet couldn't even turn round in without hitting the sink, didn't stop for breakfast as looked very pricey for what it was and the hotel took an extra £60 from my card to hold until we checked out which I thou go t was a little steep

Room was small for a deluxe room with just a double bed, not a king. Staff were poor and didn’t seem well trained at check in or check out and all just a bit dated.

Luxury in Nature
I booked this hotel because of its proximity to Richmond Park and Kew Gardens as I wanted to show my family another side of London - a more countryside feel. The hotel surpassed my expectations. It's located next to the wilder Thames river with a footpath that you can stroll on. The reception and restaurant staff are friendly and attentive and the rooms and property are clean and well maintained. Bus 65 is right adjacent to the property and will take you to Kingston (Hampton Court Palace) or to Ealing Broadway where you can take the train or Tube to other parts of London. Wish we could have stayed here longer but will definitely book again if we are in the area.

This is a lovely hotel with friendly staff. The breakfast room has a fabulous view of the Thames. It is easy to walk to the centre of Richmond or there is a bus stop close by. We were not seeking any spa facilities, which this hotel does not have on its premises but had a very enjoyable stay.

Beautiful place with stylish rooms at a very reasonable price. I cut my foot on a glass shard left in the bathroom which is not expected and the only issue I had with the hotel was the female Spanish receptionist was a little less apologetic than expected. Not her fault of course, said the right words but gave the impression she did not believe me. I wasn’t fishing for compensation but a gesture would have been appreciated. Nothing crazy like a free room, but a glass of Champagne on next visit or an upgrade, perhaps. Apart from that - great place.

Did not like the small room we were given despite paying a lot of money. Room was in a poor condition. It’s supposed to be a five star hotel but the room did not meet the standards .

The hotel is lovely in a beautiful setting the view from my deluxe room and from the dinning room is stunning overlooking the Thames. Unfortunately I found the staff are not trained to a standard in keeping with a 4 star hotel. Breakfast is not included in the rate and can be expensive as you are paying for items individually. I had breakfast twice, on both occasions there were issues eggs not cooked as ordered or undercooked no milk for the tea or butter for toast requesting things several times. I also had an issue with the pre authorised amount full payment for the stay plus £100 was debited at check in. When checking out I kept asking if the pre authorisation would be cancelled but the receptionist was unable to clearly explain the billing policy and I was made to feel I was being difficult.

Beautiful location and building. Clean, comfortable, quiet room with plenty of space and good bathroom. Walking distance to Richmond Riverside and town with straightforward access via car & public transport to Central London. It was great to take a city-break and have woodland outside the window (complete with Tawny owls).

We loved the Petersham and our wonderful view of the Thames and the Petersham Common. It was delightful to watch people run and walk their dogs. Calling a taxi or an Uber was a great option, but walking back toward Richmond and Kew along the Thames or up along Richmond Hill was tranquil and just lovely. We had high tea and a great English breakfast. To not stay in London and to explore Kew Gardens and see the lovely shops and restaurants Richmond has to offer was a great getaway!

Great place for a weekend
Reception desk was very helpful. Room was lovely and great for a weekend but this is not a business class hotel. Water pressure was weak. view for the balcony was wonderful.

Comfortable room but breakfast very expensive - try the Hollyhock cafe in the park next door as an alternative - absolutely superb. Only moan is that the curtains were virtually impossible to close - very tall windows and no mechanism

Although the Petersham is not really within easy walking distance of the train station, the view was superlative; the surrounding area was beautiful, and the hotel was classy. The staff were impeccably helpful and friendly. Because of a rail strike, we had to leave early, but I would return to this hotel in a heartbeat. Gorgeous!

It was our wedding night and we spent the night at the hotel. We generally liked everything but the only problem was the chair in the room had lots of hair from another customer I suppose. So it was not the cleanest room but the rest was ok.

Nice view but not worth the cost
I booked a Deluxe Room which has a balcony and a stunning view. The best thing about the hotel was the view - it is unrivalled. However, the quality of the food, both in range of options and quality of breakfast, was sub standard. Breakfast was £24 - the quality of the food used was not great, pastries were hard, toast was cold. The continental breakfast was below standard - there were two slices of cheese, two chunks of brie, and some jamon serrano as the "meat and cheese selection". The bathroom suite was a good size but a little dated in its decor. We had to eat out for dinner as the restaurant options were very limited. The staff were very friendly to their credit.
