    This is not a hotel that you should pick if you are Expedia VIP at reception we were told it didn't matter if we booked through Expedia they could only give us a free bottle of water and we could pay like everyone else for an upgrade. When we explained we were VIP the receptionist got a manager and she continued to say it didn't matter and and in the end offered a room that had "daylight". Also as a VIP member we had an email stating we could get 20% discount on food and drink but the hotel said it was only 5% it seems like they are making there own rules which are different to what the have agreed with Expedia. The room didn't have any free bottled water only tap and the tea station was empty. The breakfast is not worth paying for as it was quite expensive for something you can get for £5 a short walk away. Plus you have to queue for a long time to get a table. It's chaos, the breakfast area is not big enough if the hotel is busy. When we explained upon check out the receptionist understood our problem straight away and wiped off our mini bar charge.......a full £3.75 The location is the only plus but as it's Central London there's plenty of other options

    We went to stay at the park plaza for our anniversary this weekend gone. We had been there before and were excited to go again. All in all we had a good stay. Our main gripe was we chose this hotel for their swimming pool, steam room and sauna. We got down to the spa and were told that because they were holding a private function we couldn't use the facilities. Even though the staff at park plaza were very accommodating and allowed us to use the spa facilities in their sister hotel, our main gripe was the lack of communication between us and the staff. When you are running a hotel in London, that has a facility other hotels dont, it doesnt cost any money to communicate to your customers if you arent able to provide it. It doesnt cost any money to have a contingency plan if you arent able to provide facilities if you are closing them for private events. At the end of the day, talking doesnt cost a thing and i wish big companies not just park plaza should take that on board. Its not hard to say "will you be using our spa today? If so, we arent able to accommodate this due to a private event but let us know and we will sort you a place in one of our hotels nearby" so the staff arent getting irate customers or disappointed customers and that helps them during a shift. It also helps the customer to make a decision on what they want to do. Hopefully going forward the management staff can take this on board and not leaving their staff to be left with these complaints
