Stayed with my mom for 6 nights. The staff was really excellent, friendly yet professional. Smaller hotel, not for someone who likes the buzz of a big chain-type hotel. This is more quiet, elegant and personal. The suite was exactly what we needed: really comfortable beds, nice bath, spacious living area to relax after a long day. Although a little small for real cooking (and who wants to cook on vacation anyway?), the kitchen was perfect for coffee in the morning with a fridge big enough for the wine we brought from Paris. Next trip to London, I would stay there in a heartbeat!

While the staff and the room were lovely overall, my main problem was with the couch in the room. It was so filthy that I could not sit on it for the 11days that I was there. Not only were the seat cushions, arms, and back of the couch visibly stained, but there was also a hole in the fabric of one of the seat cushions. I went downstairs and informed the manager about this. He sent a staff member named Vlad with me to look at the couch. Vlad looked at the couch and said that he would go downstairs, inform the manager of what he saw, and call me in 15 minutes. I never heard from anyone about the couch again and the matter was never resolved.

"Beautiful hotel, a little too far from most things"
Everything about the hotel was wonderful, however, being based in the City, makes it very difficult to find places to eat, or drink outside of the hotel itself. This is especially true at the weekend when the city is pretty much closed. For those who don't know London very well, the City is the financial district of London and as you would imagine is focused on businessmen and not tourists.

Stayed here for a couple of days break - very pleased with the standard of accommodation - big room, lovely comfy big bed, modern HD TV, clean modern shower, basin & toilet. Staff very friendly and efficient. We had a room overlooking the racecourse with huge windows letting in the afternoon and evening sunshine. The grounds were well tended and pleasant to stroll around in the evening. We thoroughly recommend this hotel.
There was just one slight drawback - the shower was very slow to drain so we ended up in a couple of inches of water at the end of using it - there may be a problem with the drains as the basin waste was odorous enough for us to have to close the bathroom door. I am sure that a little attention would clear this problem - I did notify reception when checking out. Also make sure to close the windows at night, the hotel is close to Gatwick Airport's flight path.

We stayed one night only as we were attending a weekend event at the 02, for which this is very convenient. 3 of us shared a room which was very comfortable (2 x double bed).
We had left our bags with the hotel well before check-in and they looked after them for the whole of the second day which made our lives soooo much easier. All the staff were very helpful and responded quickly to our requests for more tea bags and fresh milk.
We thought that the breakfast was too expensive so popped next door to Browns which was fantastic.
