I didn’t actually end up staying here. The host was very difficult to get hold of and when I finally did manage to get a hold of him, his customer service was very poor to say the least. He was rude and condescending over the phone. He’d obviously had problems with people renting his appartment for parties in the past and thought it was appropriate to take that out on me for some reason. He asked some quite intrusive questions like where I lived, who I’d be staying with and why. He asked me after making the booking what time I had planned to check in. I said 1pm and he agreed (the check in time stated on the website was 10am - 8pm). On the day i called him at around 12 to try and reschedule for 2pm. He told me he wouldn’t be able to guarantee that he would make it to the apartment to allow me to check in by 2 and he said he’d call me back later. He never did. He also informed me during that call that the deposit had doubled. I agreed to all this. I managed to get in touch with Expedia who told me that the host had let them know that I’d be able to check in between 2-3pm. I arrived at quarter to 3. Tried to get in touch with him for over an hour and not only did he not pick up, he declined some of my calls. He called me back at around 4:30 pm at which point I told him I’d like to cancel my booking. The only positive thing I have to say about this booking is that I received a full refund. Avoid at all costs

Where do I start?! Booked this property because it offered an 11am check-in which was perfect for work commitments. I confirmed that time in writing the week before arrival. Arrived at 11am and no-one was around to let me in. I rang the host and was told that check-in started at 2pm in spite of what it says on Expedia and my message. Spent the next three hours in my car trying to work. Went back at 2pm and found that there was someone already staying in the property! I'd been double booked and not informed. After half a dozen phone calls to the host I finally got a response - I'd been upgraded to another property and someone would be along in a minute to let me in. Arrived at the upgraded property, no-one was there. Got a phone call to say the girl next door would let me in. Knocked next door, no answer. Waited 40 minutes before giving up and booking the local Holiday Inn instead. Won't see my money again for this booking but will hopefully stop others from losing out. Abundantly clear that they hosts had made a complete horlicks of my booking and were frantically trying to backtrack. Absolute shambles from start to finish. Stay well clear.

Apparently I'd been given an upgrade as this apartment was not available. Arrived at the upgraded property, no-one there to meet me. More phonecalls, was told next-door would let me in. Knocked next-door, no-one in. After waiting for half an hour I gave up and booked in at the local Holiday Inn. Won't see the money I paid for this booking again but can hopefully prevent others losing out. Became abundantly clear that for whatever reason the hosts weren't expecting me, they'd already let the property to someone else. An absolute farce - dreadful levels of service right throughout.
