Very nice hotel with a view on the racecourse

Posted 20-Mar-2017
The room was very spacious (apart from the bathroom) with a very nice large (not very well cleaned) window on the racecourse. The Spa was very nice and well equipped even if requires a little bit more maintenance, supervision and cleanliness. The - free - car park is very spacious but a little bit fsr from the actual hotel reception/entrance. This is shared with other local businesses (i.e. Golf Club) and it is not always possible to find a bay by the hotel entrance and it is not utilised politely by everyone.

Excellent hotel, next to Lingfield Park racecourse

Posted 17-Mar-2017
Pros: Excellent accommodation
Cons: Signage on the road outside the hotel.
Location: Horse racing, quite a few restaurants and pubs.
It was a bit difficult to find in the dark as the sign only faces one way and this wasn't the direction I was approaching from. However, once at the hotel ,the staff were excellent, the room spacious and comfortable, the bed was very comfortable and I had a good night's sleep. Breakfast was spot on in the morning, with a perfectly cooked poached egg, thanks. I didn't try the spa so can't comment on this.

Modern hotel with really great people.

Posted 11-Mar-2017
Pros: As above
Cons: The food at the restaurant really deserves a space that is more intimate and less hotel.
A really good stay. The staff are really friendly and provide great service. The hotel is modern and rooms well equipped, clean, spacious and comfortable. The rooms overlook the golf course and / or racecourse. The restaurant provides very tasty, good food. The hotel is a little way from other shops etc although Lingfield is only a 10 minute walk.

It does not look like a Marriott

Posted 25-Feb-2017
Pros: The personnel is attentive and friendly. Breakfast is good.
Cons: Change all mattresses. Restaurant menu must be more varied.
Location: The location is fine. Besides horse racing you can enjoy several interesting villages and a few historical sites
The mattresses are awful, extremely soft. One finishes the night with back pain. And apparently all mattresses are like that. No choice. Lunch options are very limited. I could not find something I fancied eating and chose a cheese platter. Dinner is not great too.

Lovely hotel, lovely area

Posted 02-Dec-2016 on Hotels
Stayed 3 days/nights. Really nice stay and nice hotel. Breakfast staff were brilliant and remembered your name every visit. However, the rooms have feather pillows, feather duvets and feather mattress (undersheet) protectors. I had to ask a total of 4 times to get these changed as I am allergic to feathers. I also got a paper everyday even though I did not ask for one, and despite asking everyday not to get one, I still got it - but good thing, it did not appear on my invoice - so all's well.

Fab hotel, not ideal for those without a car

Bed was too soft (I know, hardly a compliant) for MY taste, although I loved the soft-as-a-cloud pillows - dreamy.

Dinner

Posted 12-Nov-2016
Pros: The staff were very attentive and the hotel was well presented.
Cons: A backup generator, and what appeared to be minor power cuts, knocked out the computers for a while and no payment receipts were available.
Location: We were at the hotel for a funeral next day and so the rest was not important. Having said that the location, with the racecourse is excellent.
Only downside was that my wife ordered Plaice for a main course and what was delivered - Pork Loin! The reason given was that the chef was new - I am not a chef, by any stretch of imagination, but even I know the difference between fish and meat!
