Excellent value for the money

Posted 24-Jun-2017
Pros: See above
Cons: At £6 for a "Continental" breakfast quite a meager and uninspired croissant.
Location: See above.
Near Kensington Garden and Palace, a lovely tradional street, good restaurants and tube nearby. Very peasant and helpful staff. Rooms a bit small, breakfast not included, but there is air conditioning and the decor is quite nice.

Pros: Proximity to London attractions and tour routes. Has A/C and pleasant staff.
Hotel is close to Hyde Park and local cafes/restaurants. Price was adequate and check-in/out was quick. Did not come with breakfast (12 pounds) which was fine.

Near Hyde Park

Posted 09-Jun-2017
Pros: The triple was a large room with firm beds & room to open luggage and sit at a desk.
Cons: Nearly everything was fine.
Location: Very close to Hyde Park & bus stops. 4 blocks from tube stations. Several small restaurants & 2 grocery stores within a block.
A short distance from Paddington Station (too far to walk easily) and 1/2 block from Hyde Park, this Regency Style hotel on a quiet street is well run & updated.

Nice hotel close to everywhere!

Posted 03-Jun-2017
Pros: Great location. Quiet. Residential feel. Neighbourhood feel. Excellent breakfast buffet.
Cons: Staff at front counter should greet you when you re- enter hotel - often they would look at us coming back to hotel and say nothing. Not very friendly
Stayed for a week. Walked everywhere from hotel as close to all sites and restaurants.

Very Nice Stay

Posted 31-May-2017
Pros: The staff and the room.
Location: Located near pubs, restaurants and markets. Two minute walk to Hyde Park.
Clean pleasant facility with friendly staff. We were given a room a really hard bed. When I commented about the bed I was asked to go down to the front desk where wewere offered a new room. So we packed up and while we were out, the staff moved us. The new room was a little bigger and the bed was perfect. Had dinner in their restaurant. The food was very good and the staff was very attentive. Overall, very nice stay.

Lancaster Basement

Posted 26-May-2017
Pros: The location is convenient to Underground Stations and Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park
Cons: Change management.
After an overseas flight my wife and I arrived at the hotel and checked in at 11PM. Requested a quiet room so that we could get some rest after a long day of travel. The room we received was in the basement adjacent to a service area. Whereas we arrived late at night there was no service activity and therefore no sign of what was to come. At about 6AM the service staff started gathering laundry carts and running them along the wall, shared by our room, behind the beds headboard. Further, just outside our room there was a hydraulic lift to hoist the carts to the street. The banging and clanging of the steel lift and the running of soiled linens out and new linens in went on for an hour. When I went to discuss the matter with the front desk the attendant apologized indicating that they shouldn't be carrying on making noise. I went outside and casually spoke to the linen delivery man who indicated that this was his regular schedule. The front desk attendant was not genuinely concerned but did offer to change our room. This hotel knowingly operates in this manner and is indifferent toward the impact on guests. There is also a no refund for pre-paid rooms. The management's operations and policies are to take advantage of casual travelers with no care or interest in hospitality or repeat customers. Strongly suggest people find accommodations elsewhere.

Close in and easy to explore city from

Posted 24-May-2017
Clean, safe. Impressive exteriors. Nice interiors but not as much character as outside. Small double room but typical for the city. Clean. Front desk people were accommodating but not super friendly. Very professional though. Buffet breakfast was good BUT Limited window to partake though.
