Good Location for Shopping and Transport

Cons: Décor needed updating in the rooms - the rooms, specifically the bathrooms needed updating/renewing
Location: Central location, lots of shops, restaurants and attractions within easy walking distance
Hotel in an excellent location, just off of Oxford Street. Hotel itself is comfortable but tired and in need of updating and some TLC. The room had limited facilities and there were things broken that had not been mended or replaced ie hooks on back of door missing and the shower did not work as something had been broken off and not replaced. The fridge had been taken out leaving a gaping hole. Breakfast was good but there seemed to be a shortage of staff so things were not getting replenished until we asked for them and the self serving area was in the same area as the kitchen so staff were unable to get in and out easily with dirty dishes etc. On the whole, I would stay there again purely for location but would see what other hotels had vacancies first.

One side of the hotel is far too noisy.

Pros: Not much!
Cons: The decor and some soundproofing in the most affected rooms or the noise.
The first night we were given room 79 and it sounded like a Boeing 747 was taking off every five minutes. I've stayed in many a London hotel and to see ear defenders provided by the hotel is just absurd and without any notes online to inform you that the hotel is noisy. The room was worse than shabby, scruffy curtains, random streaks of paint on the walls, chipped wood all over the wardrobes, I could go on, it summary it wasn't what I'd expect from a Holiday Inn. After complaining we were moved for the second night to room 377 and it was completely different. Quiet, good condition in the room etc etc.

I expect better

There were a few things that made this a less than ideal stay. The extra (unexpected) things were the hair in the towel - leaving the mystery of whether it had been washed, or just badly washed, and the two cracks in the wall, a small one near the bed, and a significantly larger one over the tv. I expect better from Holiday Inn. I used to like the biscuits, but there were none available. I also used to like the courtesy of an extra hour on checkout, when arranged in advance. But not this time, I was told it was not possible because I don't have a loyalty card - I do - and then told it was because I had booked through Hotels.com. Add a thoroughly boring breakfast (and management please note that we, the paying customer, prefer fresh fruit to tinned) and you can see that I shan't be staying again in a hurry

Close to oxford but needs more enhancement

Staff need to greet people more. No one helped in taking up the luggages to the lobby when arrived as there are only stairs. So had to carry them up. In the room halls always food odor all night long

The hotel is excellent for the location alone ,literally 5 minutes walk from Bond St tube station , staff are so helpful , breakfast was good , room was comfy & clean also

Pros: The situation for shopping couldn't be better. Good breakfast and clean room.
Location: Great location for shopping and restaurants.
Stayed over for one night after seeing a show. Room was clean, staff friendly and nice bar . Very good for shopping,and would stay there again.

Could have been great, but...

Arrived at 11pm after a tiring flight and was looking forward to a late morning sleep, but got awaken at 7am by the fire alarm. When I asked the reception desk about the reason, I was carelessly answered that it was a test !!! If you expect to get up late, go elsewhere.
