Super service and great location

Posted 16-May-2017
Pros: 24-hour coffee shop, my recently refurbished room
Cons: Bathroom needs a hook on the door and instructions or labels for the shower taps - took ages to work out which was which.
Location: Not far from Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Gardens, Holland Park, the Design Museum
I enjoyed a great weekend stay of three nights including an early check-in, which was really helpful ahead of various business meetings. The location so close to Kensington High Street tube, buses and shops is brilliant and was a marvellous base for both work and leisure activities over the weekend. From check-in to departure the staff couldn't have been more helpful, including sorting out my iPad when I couldn't get on to the internet.

Very nice hotel in good location

Posted 12-May-2017
Pros: In particular, the location as we were attending an event at the Royal Albert Hall and it was a short taxi ride.
Location: Excellent location for Royal Albert Hall and shopping on Kensington High Street
We enjoyed our stay but were disappointed with the size of our room and in particular, the size of the bathroom. It felt very cramped. Also rather surprised when a maid let herself into our room at 8.15. However it was handy to be able to get a warm drink and a sandwich at the hotel's coffee bar when we returned to the hotel at 11pm.

Pros: Friend had stayed there 5 yrs before when it wasn't a Holiday Inn, as I said, they changed the name of hotel in January the week we reserved room
Hotel was recommended, supposed to be large rooms and bathrooms, they changed to Holiday Inn in January the week we booked for the end of March.Evidently they made 2 rooms into 3 rooms....2 twin beds pushed together, no space between, when you would roll over to another side, the other person's face was inches away, not pleasant at all....elevators not working....ran out of toilet paper, half a roll and they didn't put any in room....one pack of cookies with 2 cookies in it or 2 people....removed toiletries from shower shelf and didn't replace with new....2 elderly women, put us in a room down 2 long hallways at end of hall....younger people were placed several doors away from only working elevator...plus of hotel was you could use computer and print boarding pass in business center....8 nights of walking 2 blocks to get to room inside hotel was not a pleasant experience since we booked in Jan for end of March booking

Great location to Tube, shops and restaurants, etc

Posted 03-May-2017
Pros: Room was clean, safe, reasonably priced and centrally located.
Cons: Staff communications and consistency.
Location: Near Kensington Palace/Gardens, the Tube, a fabulous Whole Foods, Bill's restaurant for breakfast
There were a few miscommunications between staff but nothing major eg, there was 3 in our room and only 2 sets of towels - so another room received them instead. When I later contacted housekeeping directly that had received the wrong room number from the front desk even though I wrote it down (with another item.)

Pros: Great location and good rooms
Cons: Food
Rooms clean and comfortable and in great location, but if you're looking for a hotel with character with happy friendly staff then this isn't for you. Food is terrible, it's worth walking up the road in the freezing cold rather than dine there.

Close to an underground station & shops.

Posted 28-Apr-2017
Pros: On Easter Sunday a hotel concierge knocked on the door with a chocolate Easter bunny for my son. The concierge desk and staff were always kind.
Cons: The elevators were way too small. Room bathrooms very ridiculously small & you should not let that room be booked for 3 people.
Location: 1 block from an underground station, walking distance to shops & restaurants on high Kensington street, portobello road market & Kensington palace.
When I arrived I couldn't check in because it was early - the concierge took our bags and stored them while we explored London. They were very polite & helpful. When it was time to check in the front desk told me that my son could swim for free but if anyone accompanied him it was a 5 pound fee per use. I asked if there was a lifeguard on duty and was told no and they were not responsible for safety while my child was swimming. Hmmmmm????? I was also told of a 50 pound/night (refundable deposit on check out) fee for "damages". I am currently still disputing this a week later with my credit card company & the hotel as I was not refunded yet. I booked a room for 3 (me, my spouse & 12 year old) I only had 2 towels - this was every day, even after I explained it to the housekeeping staff (repeatedly). I was out of toilet paper on a regular basis - even after repeatedly asking housekeeping for it. The room only had 1 "king" bed that we shared because I wouldn't give another 20 pounds/night for an additional bed to be placed in the room. There was no room for it - this was a corner "expedia, last minute, beside the housekeeping room, we can shove foreigners into" room. (King bed is in quotes because it was CLEARLY a queen at most!) The bathroom was so small one could barely turn around in (might I say my family are all very thin - a larger family or person would not have been able to move). The elevator was so small 3 people could barely fit in with 2 suitcases.

Wonderful hotel near the Underground

Posted 27-Apr-2017
We were extremely pleased with our stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was the best nights sleep we had while in Europe. Their breakfast was delicious. My husband had recommended this hotel because he stayed there with Camp America for a conference in January.
