Comfortable and clean

Posted 19-Feb-2017
Pros: Comfortable bed
Cons: The seating area in lobby looked comfortable but we're in fact very difficult to sit comfortably on. I'd change them.
Location: Pubs, shops and restaurants nearby. Handy to underground station.
Check in was easy, room was ready an hour before official time and it was very comfortable and clean. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Perfect location

Posted 13-Feb-2017
Pros: Location location location
Cons: Nothing jumps out at me...
Location: There are pubs and restaurants within walking distance. The Earls Court tube station is a 10 minute walk away. Earl's court Rd is a 5-10 minute walk
I was in London visiting my aunt who lives in the Kensington area. Hotel was in a perfect location wherein I could walk to visit or to restaurants, pubs etc. Great place to hang your hat for a short stay.

Don't bother

Posted 02-Feb-2017
I found the staff to be more interested in talking to each other. I called up ahead of time as I ordered a room with 2 beds but it stated 1. I called to make the change. I got there and said I needed a room with 2 beds we when to the room it had 1 bed and the phone was not working to call down stairs. I went back to reception, where they gave me another room with TWO BEDS BUT THE BEDS COULD NOT BE SPLIT. Please note the rooms are clean but very small and they are doing some reconstructing to the rooms so expect some banging.

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you so much for taking the time to complete a review following your recent stay with us. I was hugely disappointed to note that we didn't live up to your expectations. We work hard to make each and every guest's stay special at Holiday Inn London – Kensington. This was a highly unusual situation and I'm sorry you felt the suite we provided was not up to expectation.  We have been honoured to receive many comments from guests about the friendliness and genuine warmth of every member of the team and I'm sorry to note you did not have this same impression on this occasion. Once again, thank you for your feedback. Sergio Bassi Guest Relations Manager

Bad rooms, good rooms, avoid the "standard room"

Posted 31-Jan-2017
Pros: Location
Cons: noise in rooms, standard rooms ridiculously small
Location: excellent, close to subway
The first room we were put in was close to a monster-sized air vent, the noise was intolerable. We were transferred to another room which was quiet, but was cold, super small and had a queen sized bed (in stead of the king size bed we booked) which was so short that it didn't even fit my wife, length wise. The tiny bathroom had a bath (!?) but otherwise was too narrow to move in and half the fittings fell apart upon touch. After complaining again the next day, we were moved to yet another room. This room was fine but intolerably hot at night (noisy aircon off, windows open, no other heaters visible) - and that in the middle of winter!
