    when we first arrived at the hotel it took us a while to check in which was frustraing after a long journey there. (we spoke to a couple later that day who had spent 2 hours checking in). once we got to the check in desk the guy couldnt understand my accent - welsh, so i was a trying to show him my reservation on my phone so he could copy the details but he kept insisting for me to say my name again instead. after about 5 attempts i ignored him and just showed him my reservation. He then finds us on the system and told us we havent paid, when my resevation clearly states paid in full. it was all alot of unnessasary stress that could have been avoided. when we finally got our room card we went to the lifts and the card would only work in a couple of them. when we arrived at the room it was incredibly basic for the price and very outdated. there was only 1 bedside table, and our room was facing a train track, which was very very noisey threw the day and still in the early hours of the morning. this kept us awake throughout the night until they stopped. another problem was the maids, there wasnt any 'do not disturb' signs. i suffer from m.e so it takes me a long time in the mornings to get up washed, clothed etc. on the first morning the maid was knocking on the door at 9ish after trying to walk in but discovering the door was locked. my partner answered and said nope we dont want it cleaning today. the second morning we were both woken up to someone knocking frantically on

    Great staff - very helpful when my bag broke! Pub was too noisy and tables were sticky!!

    This room was booked for a guest. Although pre-paid through expedia the reception staff insisted the room wasn’t paid. They were showed the expedia booking confirmation, the hotel confirmation nation and confirmed the payment was taken off our card but the staff were not helpful at all. This went on for a while and they made my guest re-pay for the room before the manager came in and accepted their mistake an apologised. The hotels telephone line was also consistently busy and staff unhelpful on the phone.
