We Arrived at the hotel to be told the double room that we had booked was unavailable and we would have to have a twin as nothing else was available. After getting to the room and carrying out some furniture relocating (pushing the beds together), we found french fries and quite a bit of dust under one of the beds (cleaning staff doing their job properly) after moving it, which my partner cleared up. In the bathroom there were two cracked floor tiles, one as you stepped out of the shower and one behind the toilet. The toilet roll holder had been replaced at some point but the holes from the much larger previous item had not been made good. At checkout after a restless night, we made the reception staff aware and were greeted with "I hope this won't spoil your next stay with us". Hmmmmmm! I've stayed with Holiday Inn on numerous occasions and never had any issues until now. The hotel is tired and could do with a facelift to bring it up to standard and in keeping with the regeneration which is going on in the surrounding area.
