Book an Executive room.

Posted 07-Apr-2016
Pros: The bedroom and the Executive Lounge.
Cons: Spa area water damaged. Better signage in the spa and gym area. Lobby coffee bar good idea but the design seemed out of place.
Location: The hotel is in an industrial park. I wasn't there long enough to search for things to do nearby.
Spent one weekday afternoon/night here between flights end of March 2016. The hotel is a 10-15 minute drive from LHR terminal 5 in an industrial park so nothing much to do nearby. Recommend the Executive rooms for the access to the Executive Lounge. The one employee tending to the Executive Lounge provided excellent service. There are three services in the Executive Lounge every day: buffet breakfast, afternoon tea (missed this one because my flight was delayed), and evening alcoholic drinks and cold and hot nibbles which were quite good. The hotel lobby is large and was mostly empty while I was there. Bedrooms in good repair and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Great Hotel, near Terminal 5

Posted 22-Mar-2016
Pros: Close to T5, Clean, Modern, Comfortable
Cons: Better selection of snacks in mini bar or available to room service. Spa needs seriously improved on professionalism and efficiency
Location: Location is great for T5 travelling, nothing much to do nearby tho, its an airport hotel really.
Loved this hotel. It is 7mins away from Terminal5 LHR, there are regular buses at £5pp Taxi's are a complete rip-off with a minimum £25 charge! Avoid unless you are in a serious hurry! Hotel is modern, clean & friendly staff. Rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable. Sound proofing is outstanding as planes are landing constantly yet we could not hear a single plane at anytime. Really impressed with that. Food is good quality but not cheap, however it is worth it. Disappointed with the Spa, we phoned two weeks ahead yet could not get a single appointment over 3 days! Spa staff were sparse & ones we encountered seemed unprofessional. Spa facilities are ok, nothing special but they suffice.

Average airport hotel

Posted 20-Mar-2016
Pros: Clean,
Cons: Either get a shuttle or warn people about the inconvenience beforehand.
Location: Fifteen minutes from Terminal 5. Nothing in the area.
One drawback is that there is no airport shuttle. You have to change money into pounds to pay for a bus. 19 pounds round tripl Very inconvenient. Next time I'm staying at the Sofitel which is right in terminal 5.

A nightmare

Posted 11-Mar-2016
Pros: Nothing
Cons: It should be indicated clearly on the description "The Hotel is located in the countryside village of Slough about 15 miles from most terminals"
Location: Count the minutes until you leave
This should be called Terminal Con Hilton. The Hotel is advertised ad Terminal 5 (which is the furthest terminal at Heathrow and only sensible if one travels British Airways) and it is so remote that it can only be reached in 15 minutes time (in zero traffic hence it is about 10 miles away by cab) FROM THE TERMINAL WHERE THE HOTEL CLAIMS TO BE LOCATED at an expense of 25 pounds (so called "fair fare" between terminals). Granted I arrived at 11PM, but this is the busiest airport in Europe and should be functioning full throttle 24/7 and : 1) the hotel cannot be reached from the railway connection between terminals; 2) There is no way to get a bus to the hotel unless one calls it and the phone went unanswered; 3) even the interterminal bus requires a taxi trip to the hotel (I paid "only" 22 pounds because the cabbie had mercy on me when he heard the story). I PLAN TO DISPUTE MY CHARGE

Airport Hotel that is lost

Posted 27-Jan-2016
Pros: It was clean and empty!
Cons: Explain to staff that they are in an Airport Hotel and people need to eat at all hours and get to the Airport without delay. Or maybe get a manager?
Location: Nothing, its an industrial estate
The Hilton at T5 is located in a typical dreary rundown UK Industrial estate. Once you get over this it isnt so bad and if your in a car getting to Heathrow whether it is T5 or 1,2,3 or 4 should't be a problem unless traffic is bad. I believe the hotel offers a transit bus as well but this has restricted hours. The problem is getting to the airport on time if the traffic is bad! The hotel itself is new, modern and clean. The room (king) was decent enough, though on entry it was cold and took some time to warm up. At night it was very quiet even though it was under the flight path. The main issue with this hotel is that it wants to be an Airport Hotel and charge accordingly but the staff don't seem to understand what that means. Efficient check in/check out, quick food service etc are what is needed for travelers on the go. Standing inline waiting 20 minutes to check out whilst the clerk argues with a guest about room phone charges is not what it is about. Being told that it is going to take 30 minutes for the chef to prepare two soups of the day is not what it is about. Asking for one type of hot drink and being given another doesnt help. Having said that one staff member was helpful, another seemed obsessed that i had not booked in using my members card and couldnt understand that it didnt work. The additional overnight charge for using the hotels car park was unreasonably excessive, this place is built in a near derelict industrial estate well away from the Airport!

Nice hotel but concierge could be more helpful

Posted 27-Jan-2016
Nice modern property with comfortable rooms. There were 4 of us (including 2 children) and the concierge did not offer to help us with our bags even though he could see that we were struggling. A customer service course may be useful.....

Fint hotell, med en god indisk restaurant. Ellers ikke noe annet i nærheten.
