Value for money

Posted 14-Apr-2017
i have booked this hotel for 1 night on a day before and i was surprised to get it for a such a low price at last minute. Room is very small for a double bed, it look like in a single room they had just put one double bed, apart from that everything was good. Conditions was very nice, staff was very helpful. Now this is annoying this is keep prompting Oops! Please add a bit more to your review. Eventough i have wrote enough.

A Good Hotel!

Posted 29-Mar-2017
Pros: Nice and warm; nice staff. We only had a meal for our daughter, which was well cooked and nicely presented. I tasted it and it was lovely.
Cons: The price of breakfast I thought was steep! - a shade short of fifteen quid. We passed on that.
Location: There's a sports complex; food shopping mall and the hotel despite it's distance, only 35mins from Gatwick airport. Very close to Croydon.
The entrance to the hotel was a little confusing, so we entered via The Croydon Visitor Centre. Entrance was a little odd because we entered through the dining area due to it being Mother's Day and the place being packed. One American tourist was at the desk complaining about having to come back with her key that hadn't worked properly.. and I think this may have been more because she put the key near her mobile phone which wiped it. We never had a problem. I thought she was being a little..unseasoned. We stayed on the top floor; a room close to the lift. We never heard the lift the whole time we were there. Great. Room was still being made up with the bed for our daughter which we left the staff to and went out. When we got back, bed nicely made. Room nice and clean. No odd or bad smells so we were very happy. The hotel is right next to the busy Purley Way. Noise was an absolute minimum - to the extent I had my first +8hrs sleep this year. Last year I don't recall having such a good sleep at all! There were a couple of emergency vehicles during the early hours of the morning but not to the extent to be disturbing. Really comfortable room.

Nice place to stay

Posted 26-Mar-2017
Pros: Location, quietness, facilities, beds very comfortable.
Cons: Hot water.
Location: Restaurants, Airport museum, bowling alleys.
Booked a twin room, given a double on arrival but helpful staff agreed to switch immediately. Very little hot water when showering. Other than that, all fine.

Box room

Posted 05-Mar-2017
They gave me a box room that smell funny. I do not know whether it is because I went there late or not. The carpet is old, tiles in the bathroom is shaking and needs to be replaced. The location of the room is terrible, smell like a room of a smoker and I do not smoke. The room is the smallest I have ever been or seen there is.

When we booked into our room it had not been serviced. I reported to the concierge who immediately responded very courteously with free drinks at the bar and upgraded our room. The service was excellent and the breakfast extremely good.
