If you need internet for work while at this hotel , forget about it. It is painfully slow. Google mail won’t open unless you refresh 5-10 times. Condition of the hotel - dated. Lots of marble, that probably was looking nice in the 70s. No A/C , so prepare to sleep with the windows open. If you do sleep with your windows open, the building near has big A/C units so you will hear that noise the entire night. Stains on the carpet, musty smell. I don’t know why this property is advertised as 4 stars. Should be 1 or 2.

First time staying at this hotel, located in a quiet area of Westminster but plenty of shops/cafes around the area (although when we were staying a lot were closed), Big Ben, Westminster Abbey are a 10 minute walk away. The hotel itself is a bit old fashioned but very clean and has all the amenities you would want, a great base! Some work was going on during our stay so we were woken up to drilling noises some days and the water wasn’t working for half the day on one of the days either which wasn’t the most ideal. Our room had a lovely balcony which overlooked a football pitch which was nice to relax on after a long day! Will happily return here.

Comfortable but needs a revamp
This hotel felt dated and need of modernising. Seeing the wall paper peeling off the walls was slightly alarming at first but all the facilities worked well and it was very comfortable with attentive staff. This could be such a nice boutique hotel with a little investment. The coffee and tea wasn’t very nice, which was a shame even in a travel lodge you’d get Yorkshire Tea, so it was a shame as it could be so nice with a revamp and better tea.

The staff were very friendly, but when travelling solo I find it very disappointing when given a small pokey room with a bathroom in very poor condition. Shower was difficult to enter or exit, water tap on basin was very tight to use (expected it to break in the hand) edges of bathroom walls either look dirty or build up with age!! Breakfast was not worth the visit.

Can’t wait to stay again
The whole staff was absolutely amazing at both hotels. We didn’t get to stay at Rochester due to some maintenance issues, however they were very accommodating and moved us to the Wellington. Both facilities were clean and beautiful. The staff were top notch at both hotels.

Hotel was lovely and room had lots of nice touches. The staff were very helpful and attentive both in the evening bar and breakfast. There was a lovely male staff member at breakfast (Sian, we think/we were there on Saturday 11th November). The decor in the hallways was a little bit shabby with wallpaper having off and the check-in took 35 minutes with lots of quests waiting in a small hallway so very claustrophobic. Over all though, it was a lovely stay and we would stay again.

Reception was very poor at arrival. Not nice or welcoming after questioned about deposit. The hotel itself is dated and NEVER a 4 star. I booked for 2 people and 2 bedrooms but was almost having to share the bedroom with my friend if not stating the point of my reservation. How come it was no shown on their computer?! Never had an apology . Very poor reception service. Good shower though…

Rochester Hotel was quite disappointing. Arriving after 10PM, there was no one to help with luggage from outside, then we were placed in a 5th floor room, although the elevator only goes to the fourth floor (they did provide porter service for the additional floor). Crowning glory was that there was no hot water in the entire hotel! On the plus side, when I refused to stay the following morning, they did arrange for us to move into the (affiliated) Wellington hotel next door, which proved quite satisfactory despite the similarly small room size.

We had arrived at the property when London was around 27/28 degrees. Please kindly note that this property does not have air-conditioning and if your windows do not open, it will be very stuffy. The room only has one very small fan which does not really help much with ventilation. Note that the toilet does not have ventilation nor an extractor so any big business should be done downstairs, or the smell with permeate the whole room. Advised to wear slippers in the room (they do not provide), as the carpets are dusty and as you walk barefoot, your feet will be dirty. Beds are sleepable, but note that it's a soft bed and may not be suitable for elderly who needs more supports. Overall, may not be worth for the price I'm paying for.

The property looked very pretty with hanging flowering baskets outside. Very quirky glass Lift. What I didn’t like was the carpet in the room was stained. The superior twin was way too small to be superior (would have hated to see a normal twin). There was dust in the bathroom. The room had no air-con which meant it was stifling all Night and we couldn’t sleep and the air not window that was openable was behind a sealed Plastic panel which meant we couldn’t even left fresh air in. When we went for breakfast they automatically added a service charge eventhough it was a self service buffet and there was very poor options for anyone who is gluten and dairy free. Very poor.
