We stayed in room 428 and next to us was a private store room. We were rudely waken up at 6am by staff taking something and being very noisy. It sounded like the cleaning trolleys for staff to clean rooms. We could not get back to sleep and I must say it ruined our stay. We came to London to see a show and ended up not getting much sleep. I mentioned it to the receptionist when checking out Saturday morning she was not helpful at all. Her response was speak to Expedia, who we made the booking with.

5min walknto the natural history museum. 10min walk to south kensington underground. A few nice restaurants dotted around and a waitrose opposite for any forgotten items or little treats. Other guests were exceptionally noisy but you cant escape that in a busy hotel. Breakfast was good, pancake machine a big hit with kids. Checked in at 4 and it was chaotic with so many othwr guests also checking in and it seemed like many rooms were not ready. Our room was and it was exactly what was advertised and booked. Clean and perfect for a one night stop.

This is not what I expected from DoubleTree! Worst
Only good thing I can mention is the Bathroom: Clean and well maintained. And in good location. We checked in 6pm, From the outside door to our room and inside room floor is littered with food. Didn't seems like vacuumed well. Carpet is falling off and dirty! Room Window will not close properly, cold comes through... To make things worst, Heating automatically went to 23c at some time during night and it was unbearable to sleep! on "Both nights" and the TV turned on midnight. We informed staff, only thing they were able to say was Sorry! that should not happen!...

Notwithstanding the great location of the Hotel, I found it falling short in a number of areas. The absence of a fridge, the non-functional air-conditioning, inadequate provision for hanging towels and the non-operational safe are but a few features that influenced my average rating. Credit must go to the staff, in particular Wajid Bhutti, who went beyond the call to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

Great staff at a middle of the road hotel.
The person at reception was super helpful and the check in cookies are a nice touch. The hotel itself is fine. Nothing spectacular. Rooms are pretty basic. No bottled water which might be an eco thing which is understandable I guess but no glasses to use in the room. My one main gripe is the cost of the breakfast. £27! Absolutely not worth it. I could have eaten breakfast at the Ivy for less than that and eaten the equivalent quality food at the Premier Inn. Ultimately location is great. Hotel is fine but the breakfast is best avoided.

One to be avoided
Reasonable welcome on arrival but went downhill from there. We knew before we arrived that the accessible room we had been promised was not available yet we were put on the third floor? The room was tidy but underlying cleanliness was poor with dirty carpets throughout. We planned an early breakfast ( my wife is diabetic) at 6:30 but when we tried to check out at 6:20 we were told the taxi we had booked for 6:45 was waiting and we had to go immediately or lose it - when we got to the street we discovered it was not a taxi but rather a mini cab when we arrived at Victoria bus station he charged us £25 for a 1.4 mile journey. The whole experience made us feel like we were second class

my experience in the hotel is really bad. specially, the room service, which their work was really poor. I had to talk with reception multiple time just to properly clean my room one day they forgot to take one dirty towel from the room and didn't put new towel. other day they didn't clean the bathroom. moreover, they took my socks and put it beneath the bedsheet and I was looking for my socks for the whole day. the new towels were smell really bad I informed the housekeeping supervisor about everything she was collaborative but she said that the staff are new and the are in the training. I don't know why I would make trainee to work in the first line with the customer and just ruine their stay. in a big name as double tree by hilton, which exist everywhere, they have a training center for trainee to practice their work before go to real customers.

The hotel is conveniently located and the breakfast was great. The mattress was very hard and water pressure in the shower was very low. This is a Hilton property so I was surprised that the bed was not to the Hilton standards.

This was an excellent location in Kensington which was a wonderful, nice and clean neighborhood. The Gloucester Road station was around the corner and very easy to use. There were a couple grocery stores and a few restaurants right there as well. We tried the Ask Italian restaurant as well as a pub that was down the street called the Gloucester Arms. Both had good food and good service. The hotel has a lovely garden area behind it that was nice to sit in at night and have a drink and dessert. The rooms were a decent size for my family of 4. Beds were decent. We really didn't have much of anything to complain about except the slow draining shower. I make the most of everything and try not to dwell on little things when I'm on vacation. It was a really fun experience I got to share with my kids and I would stay here again when in London.

South Kensington is always a great location for visiting london, the hotel was clean and fresh. Staff were friendly and professional. The bar area was great for a drink after returning from being out and breakfast was a great selection including full English. Only had a few problems mainly due to electrical plugs not working but overall I would stay there again for its location to tube station, grocery stores, pubs, and restaurants.

I have stayed at this property several times and it is very dated. There were holes in the carpet, water dripping from the air conditioner into the room, and it was extremely difficult to open the door as they painted the door frames. They need to completely renovate this property.

This property was close to a tube stop, eateries, museums, parks and shops. I personally felt as though the price we paid did not reflect the quality of the rooms. The lobby was nice, but we had 5 people in a room which was a "2 room suite" but it had a king bed in a loft and a couch which was pulled out for a bed. I have 3 teenage boys. It was not a good match per the description. Also, the flooring had water damage all around the exterior of the room and while the lobby was updated and beautiful, we spend more time in the room, which was not worth the cost. It was fine, but to spend 2,000 dollars for 3 nights I expected better for the room.

Great location but like a lot of hotels that capitalise on great locations, they cut corners and compensate with hugely inflated room charges and quality. We paid 400€ a night for a “deluxe” room with 2 double beds. This is NOT a 4 star hotel. The size of the room barely allows for much movement let alone a table to unpack your baggage (other hotels have this). The office desk is so close to the bed that you are unable to sit on a chair at the desk. When we arrived, the door was already partially opened. By chance we saw a manager in the corridor who said the cleaner must have forgotten to close it. However, the room opposite also had the their door partially opened and when she checked inside, no one was there. We then find out later that there WAS a problem with the door in that it needed a strong push to close it and a strong tug to open it. Showers have gel and shampoo pumps but they are not filled in. One has to use the sample bottles that they provide. The lobby area appears nice and glittery. But the rooms and corridors and door and interiors need some SERIOUS refurbishment! It’s unacceptable to have to pay high prices for less than mediocre rooms. The restaurant area is at best average. We ordered pizza and burgers but the pizza was from a frozen packet and thrown in the oven. Cost wise it was barely acceptable to pay 60£ for that plus a few drinks.
