The best deal I could get close to the Airport

Posted 24-Mar-2017
The Hotel was OK but Its miss leading about the internet. I am on business and needed the wi-fi, then found out that it cost a basic £7.50 However, if I joined the hotel club, the Wi-Fi is free. I dont want to join any more clubs, I am sick of my data bieng harvested and sick of the constant flow of marketing emails, I know thats what it would have involved. To top it all there was no phone signal due to the soundproofing, as its close to the airport, this I understand, However, this should make it doubly important to have good strong free WI-Fi I ended up getting frustrated by this and will not stay there again, next time I will use the holiday Inn, more expensive maybe but they have free WI-Fi

Close to airport but no directions for walking

Posted 19-Mar-2017
Pros: Clean room, price point for two double beds.
Cons: Staff knowledge to get to airport and also for airport to London. Actually, London could advertise this better too but best to take non-Express train.
Location: Close to Gatwick.
We booked this hotel because of it's proximity to the airport and that it was advertised as walking distance. But without directions it's confusing to get there so we took a taxi. From the hotel to the airport, we thought the staff could help us but they didn't know either. After being at Gatwick, looks like the Hilton would have been a better choice for being right at the airport. Otherwise clean, but no free wifi (which is strange in 2017). Price for London is reasonable.

Best part about the hotel is that it was close to the airport. The beds were not something I would expect from a Courtyard property. Couldn't understand the receptionist who was checking us in. Room was big enough and the bathroom was good. Just really disappointed with the thin mattresses. You could feel the box springs underneath.

Great hotel near Gatwick South Terminal.

Posted 11-Mar-2017
Pros: About a 5 minute walk from both the South Terminal and Long Stay car park.
Nice modern room that was a good size. Very comfortable.

Good hotel, close to the airport

Posted 05-Mar-2017
Pros: Mostly it's location, it's only about a 10 minute walk from the terminal
Cons: We tried to check-in to our flight on-line. Neither computer would print the boarding passes. The staff didn't know how it worked (but tried to help)
Location: We only stay the night prior to departure. It is very convenient for the airport.
We stay here most times we have a departing flight from Gatwick. The location is great. There is a shuttle bus you have to pay for but it the weather is good the terminal is about a 10 minute walk. The rooms are comfortable, we don't hear the planes and the staff always try to sort out any problems. This time we tried to check-in for our flight on-line. There were two computers available to guests. One wasn't hooked up to the printer, the second was but wouldn't print off the boarding passes. None of the staff were able to make it work. Having said that they tried very hard to help us.

Clean hotel.

Posted 27-Feb-2017
Pros: Cleanliness and breakfast
Cons: The wifi kept dropping out and this could be better especially as its near the airport and wifi is useful for checking in for flights etc.
Location: good location for the airport didn't really look around for anything else.
The hotel was delightful with a lovely room, good breakfast.

Internet Con

Posted 21-Feb-2017
Location was reasonable walking distance to Gatwick and a paid shuttle service was available. The only thing that I can fault the hotel on, and this is a big thing in my books, is the internet access. In the Lobby, free public wifi, in the rooms, you can only access the guest service which was dear. In my opinion this should be the other way around. This is money grabbing at its best. In future I will be booking a hotel elsewhere.

disappointing

Posted 07-Feb-2017
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything - particularly staff training
Location: Nothing - it was gatwick Airport
£25 to park for one night - unclear on website. Staff didn't care. Staff dropped a glass behind the bar that smashed all over the guest area arand the staff just laughed. Lack of choice for food and most wasn't available. Over priced food and drink. Awful, over-priced breakfast too. Overall, dreadful.

Great location to Gatwick airport

Posted 06-Feb-2017
Pros: Early check-in
Cons: Restaurant food was not very good for the price.
The staff was great and accommodation was good. The best thing was they accepted us for a very early check-in with no charge. This was great since we just got in from North America and is a reason I would definitely come back. The restaurant food was not the best and over priced for the quality.
