Dear Guest, We are sorry to hear that you were not happy. Apart from central heating, all our rooms are equipped with electric heaters and therefore guests can control how warm they would like their room to be. The fact that we do not have a lift is clearly displayed on Hotels.com. We recommend you check all hotel amenities prior to booking in the future. The shower mixer in your room did work properly and our staff showed you how it works but unfortunately it seems you were not able to use it correctly. We have no record of any complaint being made in relation to smell of cigarettes.

Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely continental breakfast, very clean bed and bathroom. Service was very good. Had a lovely stay in London. Good position very close to Paddington Station. Plenty of places to eat and drink in the area. I would stay at the hotel again atvthe same price

Although the owner was ok. The actual condition of the room was very poor. Desperately needs modernising. Very small no views. Bed very uncomfortable with only 1 flat pillow.. GRIM. dont think i will be staying there again. Only good point was very close to good restaurants.

Couldn’t even spend the night had to leave within the hour as the smell was so bad even my 8 year old said I can’t sleep here.

Dirty, disgusting room, black mould everywhere, toilet & shower room in a cupboard not a proper bathroom, squeaky beds so incompletely uncomfortable, bedding smelling of dried sweat,sockets behind beds so had to move beds so you could use sockets,could not move as there was 1 double bed and 3single beds in a tiny room,this was the family room number 1 in the basement,no cooked breakfast even though it was advertised,I’ve stayed in better accommodation on the same street that cost less than this,hotels.com should look at the properties before they advertised them I’ve seen cleaner dogs kennel’s than this,would never stay here again

This was another option as our original reservation had been cancelled it looked ok from outside but inside very dated and dirty I took pictures as couldn’t believe it supposed to have a cooked breakfast but was lucky to get a coffee and toast then we had to wait as nowhere to sit will not be going back there !!!!

DISGUSTING! Filthy, damp ridden mess. AVOID!
Disgusting! Absolutely vile place, STAY WELL CLEAR! The place was filthy, riddled with damp and mold. Our first room did not have electricity which they assumed we wouldn't mind. Our second room had partial working plug sockets (albeit exposed wires) . Everything in the room was filthy, the curtains, the walls, the carpets, the shower, etc. The smell of damp made me and my partner feel ill. The rude staff are aware of this, the just do not care. I tried to organise a refund which the manager said we would give but would need to be done by Hotels.com, then he refused to speak to them and disconnected the phone. 2 other guests also came down for a refund as we was speaking to the staff. DO NOT PUT MONEY IN THESE PEOPLES POCKETS! The pictures are misleading so do not use them to compare with other hotels. I'm not picky, I'm happy with a clean bed and shower. What I don't expect is holes in the walls and mold everywhere.

A conveniently licated hotel. Our room was clean but tiny, and so was the bathroom. Difficult to figure out where to lay your stuff... But the price was reasonable and the included breakfast was ok.

overall the decor needs redoing. toilets and dinning rooms ok. catering did not have a choice (bread spread, brown or white bread) both times we went for breakfast no croissant.

The hotel is near the train station. There are also a lot of restaurants and groceries walking distance from the hotel. The concierge is very helpful and accommodating.

Disappointing.
They had obviously attempted to clean our room, bedding and towels we ok. But the room was in need of repair and decoration. The room was over hot and with no apparent way of reducing the heat other than a small window. Really uncomfortable bed and worn out curtains which didnt block hardly any light. Triple room was in the basement down narrow stairs, single shoebox room almost in the attic, with no handrails on the steep 5th set of stairs. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was two types of cereal, toast, yoghurt, less than fresh fruit a couple of mini pastries, so not to bad. Great location near to Paddington Station and Hyde Park. I wouldn't want to spend more than one night. Has the potential to be a great place to stay with some upgrading.

Nice hotel, good choice, pleasant experience
Nice little hotel in excellent location. Lots of restaurants, pubs, cafes, shops, bus stops and 2 train stations all within a 5 minutes stroll. Super convenient, and a very solid choice if you are looking for a hotel in the Paddington/Hyde Park district. Will book here again in the future I am sure, as offered very good value for money, and staff were very nice and helpful.

Location great Guy at desk helpful and pleasant Any problem we had he was very quick to sort if possible(hot water was a real problem and you needed to shower well out of peak to get any hot water and so my girlfriend only ever had a cold shower) Breakfast was great and the lady there was very good and plenty to eat (cereal coffee juice toast pastry yoghurt) Clean but starting to need a few repairs Beds were a bit hard ok for one night but test you for more

It is easy distance from public transport a good location it has all the basic requirements you need. Tea and coffee making facilities in room shower was a little small if you are a larger person. Breakfast is provided the coffee is good but the hot food will be toast so don't be expecting a full English breakfast

Good location but VERY bad quality of service!!! the man was rude and not helpful! there was a rat in our room on the first night (they changed the room but still dusty and smelly) not a "continental" breakfast at all!!! never again!!!!

Never again! Very bad quality of services, the hotel needs to be entirely restored. There were just two people in it's staff, the "manager" and a lady that was supposed to clean the rooms and do breakfast, that quit the third day of our staying. Same continental breakfast each day, even that they advertised "buffet", poorest that I ever had in my life. I wonder how a so called hotel like this can be authorised to function in a place like London. Saddens and revolt is what I'm feeling after this experience!

A few tweaks needed
The stay was ok . Breakfast was limited toast apple and yoghurt choice we went down at 8 and no pastry. Choice of cornflakes or muesli. Was very strict with 9 am breakfast ends as a family was informed when they arrived at 8:50 . The house needs alot of TLC. Very helpful on reception

I did not like the place. The room was dusty. The bed was not in a good state and bedsheets were poor quality. I could not stay left the same day and looked for a better hotel and lost my 3 days payment.

Room was extremely small even I can't open my luggage during my stay. Cleanness was acceptable, wifi and tv signals ain't stable. Staff were friendly for sure, it was totally understood that they were busy but tried to maintain their best service. The location was close to the central London, just 5 mins walk to Hyde Park, 10 mins walk to Oxford Street, and 20 mins walk to Notting Hill. Overall, the performance was acceptable at this price.

Very close walking distance to Paddington Station and Heathrow express train in a fairly nice and safe section of London. This was important for an elderly woman traveling with a teenage girl on a budget. The staff was exceptionally accomodating even after our delayed flight caused a very late arrival, and a reservation mix-up which was not the hotel's fault. Because of the latter situation they had to put us in a temporary room and upgrade us back to the room we had originally reserved on the next day. They couldn't have been more pleasant. For a quaint, little, hotel, it was extraordinarily clean and neat, The free light breakfasts were appreciated, as well.
