I would stay again. It was a little loud due to an event. Also we had to ask for towels at the pool several times.

There was a loud event that went on all night super loud. We complained and asked for a different room they showed us one that was worse. The hotel was not full and they could have given us a room in the back away from the noise, instead of showing us a worse one.

The hotel itself is very nice and pleasant. The view from the upper rooms is unbeatable and a big plus is the amazing staff and the great food. I had a great stay and wish I was able to stay longer.

The staff is amazing. The rooms are luxurious and comfortable. Pool, the sauna and the gym are great. Breakfast is varied and delicious. Best hotel I have stayed in Ecuador I will definitely return next time I am in Loja

The Sonesta has been renovated very tastefully- rooms are spacious and very comfortable with lots of amenities. The buffet breakfast was spectacular- excellent food and service. Within walking distance (5-10 minutes) to the center of town. Restaurants close by. Quiet neighbourhood.

It has a severe lack of parking places , and ones that hotel counts very difficult to get in/out if you are lucky enough to find available space, for the above trying to visit Loja's nightlife may end on a very upsad situation when you return to the hotel trying to park, otherwise and if they solve this issue can be a good place to stay

It wa a beautiful hotel and the staff tried to accommodate us a much as possible. We paid for a suite, but hated the shower that dribbled on us with no pressure or heat. By the second day I was frustrated and upset that we had to tolerate those conditions at a nice hotel. I spoke to the receptionists about it, they both came up to check on it and said that it needed to be fixed. So they put us in a regular room that had an amazing shower. They still charged us for the price however for the suite, which I was not happy about but glad I had a decent shower. Just sad that the suite had such a terrible shower:/

The cooks need to be up graded the diner we had was not good cesar salad with plain lettuce tomatoes and palmettes with fried chicken that is not a chicken Cesar also it tasted like fish soup Papas Locros usually has potatoes cream avocados and cheese hardly any cheese no avocados and the presence of cream well non existent Our breakfast was good but took time as we ordered an omelette and they took a while to find the cook

Everything we expected and more
This hotel is well-situated, away from the noise and road construction of downtown, but still within easy walking distance of downtown, restaurants, sites. The staff could not have been more accommodating, and there appeared to always be someone at the front desk who spoke some English. The hotel in general and our room were very clean and comfortable. Anything we needed (generally the coffee pods that housekeeping didn't leave) was provided within a matter of minutes from the time we requested it. The restaurant was clean, the food good, and the staff very pleasant. We would not even consider a different hotel in Loja.

Private parties can be a thing to consider
Everything was going well; however, the hotel is also used for private meetings and parties, so you could hear really high volume music during weekend nights, or you could have a children party in the pool and it would be a bit difficult to get a relax time after a working week or long trip.

This is a lovely hotel in a good location, the breakfast was excellent and the staff very helpful and polite. A couple of slight niggles, it was not possible to close the curtains, there was no aircon so we needed to leave the window open which meant moths flew in the room. The food from room service was not good and the wifi was very patchy

Nice hotel
We had a good experience. Specially the bed and the pillows were great. The breakfast was also really good. The staff was also nice and friendly.

nice hotel, but...
nice hotel, but you cant use pool, Jacuzzi, etc, every day, and the days u can, its open for only few hours a day and closes too early for a hotel, avoid staying on weekends because they will rent the pool for weeding, parties, etc. and play loud music all night long with no sound insulation at all, so you may not get lo sleep at all.

Comfortable business hotel in good Loja location.
Well appointed hotel for personal comfort and business needs. Close to key Loja sights and restaurants. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Able to print out documents from a bank of business computers. Excellent restaurant, work out facilities and outdoor pool. Remember to bring a bathing cap or impossible to enter pool.

Expensive.
Staff very helpful, except for Pedro on last morning. (Our breakfast was included, but we needed to take airport shuttle before 0700 hrs. Yesterday's warmed coffee, watermelon juice, and miniature bread rolls were provided with no milk. I asked Pedro politely for some milk as there were 3 staff and 3 clients in a large, vacant lobby, but was told the kitchen does not open until 0700 hrs. The bar room door six steps away was open and the necessaries should have been provided. This poor service was unexpected and unnecessary. Hotel location good. Our stay was 3 nights and the room and bathroom were tidied, but not cleaned or vacuumed. The linens (except for the excellent towels), awful foam pillows, bedspreads, carpeting and curtains need replacing. TV news broadcasts only Al Jezeera in English (shame on you!) and the programming is decades old, mostly violent and loaded with long ads.
