Wahlfisch is an excellent choice of hotels right on the Main River and within minutes to shopping and attractions in Würzburg. The twin beds in single rooms is not what Americans are typically used to, but they are comfortable and adequate.

Awesome place to stay!
Absolutely lovely place, clean double room, even had a private garage for your car/motorcycle. Staff were always wonderfully polite and friendly, and located close to the city center, 10-15min walk from 3-4 massive historical monuments, (castle, palace, church).

A nice moderately priced hotel across the river from the Fortress Marienberg. Conveniently located within 5 minutes of the tram. Easy walking to the town center as well. The rooms are a bit small, I had a twin but good enough for a few nights stay if one is organized with their belongings. Wish they had a refrigerator in the room as that would be helpful.

Site advertises laundry facilities. There are none. Desk clerk said we could send out to be laundered and MIGHT be back in two days. Also, asked at desk how to turn on HVAC system. Reply always it’s not working. Asked when fixed. Replied next week like who cares. Had to ask someone else for help. At least he provided a fan. Room was hot and stifling without air flow. Paid a high price for a hotel without a working air flow system.

Comfortable charming hotel by the river
Great location right by the river. Our 2 single beds room is small but has everything we need. The bathroom door is glass so if someone turns on the light in bathroom, the whole room is lighted. Maybe a watch out for a light sleeper.

The location is great. Walkable to all attractions. Parking garage is available. Only issue was the shower/tub situation but was reported to the staff.

This property has very good location: right besides the Main river. You can see the Marienberg Fortress right outside the hotel, and can also walk to the Residenz in 10 min.

Great location, but there was a terrible smell coming from the drain in the shower. They explained that it has to do with the river’s low tide. They fix it very quickly l.

Hotel was fine. A little lean on amenities, but totally fine for walking around the city. Staff was nice, but is not there after 10. No food on the property after the afternoon.

If you are booking this hotel because the listing says they have a king bed then find another place to stay. They have NO king beds according to the front desk. The Expedia listing clearly states king bed. False advertising. Buyer beware!

Excellent in so many ways!
EXCELLENT! I called ahead with a few questions. I received accurate answers from a friendly and courteous gentleman. I mentioned we would need a parking spot. When checking in around 1730 Angelica was an angel and took great care with us. She walked us to our parking spot in a secure garage. There is limited paid parking here and apparently the nice gentleman had reserved a spot for us. Thank you! Our room had a king bed, a kitchenette with small fridge, hot plate, electric kettle, dishes, flatware, coffee cups, pots and pans. The fridge came with a few beers and water bottles. We enjoyed a few and were happy to pay for the thoughtfulness when we checked out. The bed was AWESOME! We slept like royalty. We were on the 1st floor which made it easy for us to bring our bikes to rest for the night. We did not have a view but we were only in the room to sleep. We spent our days exploring the city castles on our bikes. We did not eat at the hotel but the meals looked delish and there were many who were dinning there. Our trip was perfect as we celebrate 35 years as Mr and Mrs. If in town again we will stay here. It felt like everyone who works here may be the owner. Everyone served with care as if they owned the place. Excellent customer service.

Beautiful view but for the price wasn’t up to par.
Well, it started out very nice. Friendly check in nice room overlooking the river and castle. Hot day so we put the a/c and left for the city. Back at 11p and room is hot. Night person was amazing and moved us to different room. Would have thought at checkout we would have at least gotten the 12 euro parking comped. The hotel wasn’t cheap!

Great place to stay
This was our second stay of several days at Hotel Walfisch, having enjoyed the hotel two years ago enough to book again. The location is great, with a view of the river and easy walkable access to the town center. There is a charge for parking but it is close and safe. The room itself is very comfortable, This time we ate supper at the restaurant one night and it was delicious. Wurzburg is a great town with lots to do and see, but this time we explored the surrounding countryside more and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The staff were helpful and pleasant. We appreciated ouf room being changed when the aircon in the first didnt work. The second room was nice and clean and comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding. Location good. River across toad. Very quiet in rooms. Outdoor garden/ restaurant didnt have service during day which was a shame. Other than that i recimmend it.

Hotel Walfisch is great!
Fantastic hotel experience! Very helpful and accommodating staff. Small rooms but sufficient for our small family, and the AC during the June heat was a blessing. Had a great view of the river and the Marienberg Fortress from our window. The food was also really good! The location was perfect for walking along the river, the All Saints bridge, and the cathedral. This hotel helped our European vacation start out right!

History is alive in Wurzburg.
Great location within walking distance of city center and all sights, and lovely placement on the River Main with great views of the castle across the river. Historic, and rather lovely building. The comfort of the stay could be improved, however. The room was awkwardly shaped with a TV stand placed away from the wall, the carpet was very old and did not seem very clean, and the bathroom had a major water issue, so it was flooded after two showers. Service was generally friendly, especially at breakfast, but the initial check in experience was very off putting, with front desk service rather diffident at best.

A Whale of a Hotel
The Walfisch service was excellent from walking in the door to say hello and getting step by step instructions on unloading baggage, claiming the room and parking the car. Breakfast was adequate. The supper we enjoyed was excellent. The desk staff helped us solve a difficult problem with our car after we checked out.

A nice hotel in a nice quiet area.
It's a nice hotel in a nice quiet area. Check-in was easy, check-out a bit confused. On my last day I had the breakfast buffet for 12.50 euros. It was a smaller spread than a 12 euro breakfast spread that I had at another hotel in another city. The room was a good size and comfortable for a single bed.

Very convenient comfortable hotel. Nice location on the river & the town is only a short walk away. Station 15 mins walk but lots of taxis. If you have a room facing the river, you have a great view of the castle. Breakfast costs extra. It was good but there are cheaper options.

Wunderbar in Wurzberg
Easy 10 euro parking. Friendly and helpful staff. Location was a short walk to the istoric center. Quiet spacious room.

Great for a quick stay
The hotel is in a great spot along the river with a view of the vineyards and castles on the hill. The town itself is very charming and easy to walk through. My only dislike was the hotel entrance, it comes into a set of stairs and it's not clear where check-in is located and the entrance had a lingering smell of cigarettes.
