Family-friendly cottage in Lochmaben with outdoor tennis court

A wonderful location in beautiful South West Scotland for a holiday to suit your individual needs. Whether you are looking for a family holiday or an intimate retreat, look no further than Laird House. Situated on a working sheep and beef farm there are plenty of opportunities to help out at certain times of year, including lambing time, and, with ponies to ride and free range goose, duck and hen eggs to collect, you will create memories of a carefree holiday. Laird House sits in an elevated position with stunning views over Annandale, from the Moffat Hills to the Solway Coast and beyond. Completed in 2009, the house is spacious and luxurious and fully accessible for disabled visitors with all rooms on the ground floor, including a family bedroom, with bunk beds if required, and a games area.

Guest accommodation at this cottage offers fireplaces and DVD players. Rooms open to balconies. Kitchens offer fridges, hobs, microwaves and separate dining areas. Bathrooms include a shower and hairdryers. Cots/infant beds are also available.

Lovely break

We really enjoyed our long weekend at Whitelaird. The cottage was warm, comfortable and equipped with everything that we needed. The special welcome package of local produce and fizz was also very much appreciated. Angela and Andrew were really friendly and on hand for local knowledge and advice. The children absolutely loved being on the farm and seeing all the animals. We would happily return for a longer stay next time!

Home from Home

This is a great place to stay in a great location. It really does have everything you could need which all makes it feel like home. The sunroom and the views it affords is just stunning and even makes rainy times bearable. Kids will love it here and there is plenty of safe space outside for them to play - the sandpit is a real draw! If you like being close to nature but want the conveniences of a town to hand, this could be the accommodation for you as Dumfries is just a short car journey away. I cannot recommend this place enough - love it!

Perfect place to stay!

My husband and I wanted to explore the borderlands and Dumfries, Galloway areas of Scotland and stayed at the Laird House. Angie and Andy and their family so were so welcoming and helpful. The Laird house was a lovely spacious cottage in a quiet spot in the country, but close to amenities. The shower was excellent, lots of hot water! I would highly recommend this place to anyone coming to the south of Scotland.

A lovely cottage with everything you need!!

The cottage is well equipped and beautifully laid out. Angie and her family made us feel very welcome. A lovely area to visit with great views and lots of places to visit. Although the highlight of the break for my 7 year old was feeding the horses, ducks and playing with the dogs on the farm!!
