Excellent Hotel, highly recommended

Posted 13-Nov-2016
Recently stayed a weekend at Thornton Hall for a wedding nearby. All staff were extremely welcoming, friendly, attentive and professional. Room was large, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Good selection of quality beverages/biscuits etc including pod coffee machine. Super bathroom, again with quality toiletries. Breakfast was excellent with great choice of both hot (and everything was) and cold foods. Would have no hesitation in recommending Thornton Hall and look forward to returning when next in the area.

Wonderful facilities

Posted 23-Aug-2016
Pros: Spa, room.
Cons: The bar lacked atmosphere. We were overcharged at checkout.
Location: A country hotel.
We booked the basic price room, and it's was excellent - decor and facilities. The award winning spa was 5 * standard. Good quality English breakfast.

Clean hotel with excellent customer

Posted 13-Aug-2016 on Hotels
My husband and I stayed for one night for a wedding which was half a mile down the road at Thornton Manor. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly doorman/porter and showed us to reception. At reception the staff were polite and friendly and we explained that our 3 daughters were driving up for the wedding and were going to stop off at the hotel to freshen up for the wedding with their children. We had only paid for a standard double room but the staff were wonderful and we didn't expect it but they upgraded us to accommodate our family. The staff were very understanding when we told them the girls had got delayed and we would need a late check out. The rooms are spacious and clean with good tea and coffee making facilities. Bathroom was well stocked with toiletries and soft fluffy towels. The grounds of the hotel and location has breathtaking views. We didn't get a chance to check the pool and spa facilities but that can be for next time. The customer service we received was excellent and I'd like to thank all the staff for making our stay stress free and an enjoyable one. We highly recommend this hotel

Ok for a wedding but not a great place to relax !!

Posted 29-Jul-2016 on Hotels
The room was lovely - felt light and the white and blue decor gave it a great seaside feel. However the rest of the hotel was a little disappointing with overpriced food and very little atmosphere. Not a great place to relax so we walked along the the Red Fox pub down the road which was lovely loads of atmosphere and great sensibly prove food. All in all we wanted somewhere to real. For the weekend but this was more of a wedding venue - so overall disappointing I'd say.
