Handily placed hotel
We stayed at the Holiday Inn for 3 nights , because of its proximity to Liverpool Lime Street rail station , we travelled by train , the walk to the hotel from the rail concourse only took a couple of minutes . The hotel itself is welcoming , the room is comfortable and the bathroom well stocked . There was an iron and board in the wardrobe , a hairdryer in the drawer and a kettle with tea/coffee . We did have a slight problem with the room temperature but the staff were able to repair the control the following morning and have us a fan to keep cool even though this was in February .
We didn't eat at the hotel , there is a Sainsbury express next door if you need essentials . We used a Wetherspoons just around the corner for breakfast which is cheaper , the reason I did this is that although the Holiday Inn breakfast is all you can eat , it encourages me to overeat as my will power is not as strong as it should be.
The hotel is handy for Liverpool central rail station as well as Lime Street , we took a train from central to Blundellsands to view Antony Gormleys statues on the beach , we also carried on to Southport to visit . Albert Dock and Pierhead are only 10 minutes walk away , I am disabled but found this distance no problem . There are many stores en route and the Cavern Quarter where the Beatles story started is worth a visit by any fans . I recommend this hotel , we really enjoyed our stay although we were out most of the time this is a great base .
