Initial problems sorted out quickly

Posted 25-Sep-2017
Pros: Location, friendly staff and view onto the river.
Dolby Hotel is well situated for Albert Dock and about a 15 min walk into Liverpool One. I was staying for a music Festival in Baltic Triangle area, just across the road, so knew it would be noisier than normal. Room was ground floor and car park facing On the first night (before the festival started) there was a fair bit of noise from Casino next door and the main road so I asked to change the next day. This was sorted in a quick and friendly manner and the next room (2nd Floor) was much better. When you book request a room at the back looking on to the river. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice for continental and the cooked was as you'd expect at home.

Next to noisy main road

Posted 22-Sep-2017
Pros: Location good for conference centre
Cons: Sound insulation needs improved, see above
I'd seen that the rooms are small on the reviews, so that was expected. My real annoyance was that half of the hotel backs onto the inner city ring road, and it is noisy, for me far too noisy, which could be sorted if they'd put in a decent window. I did ask after one of the rooms that faces onto the docks - if you get one of those it may be very different - but was told they are all taken. There is a Campanile almost next door, which may not come up on all the searches, and that may be a better choice unless you can gaurantee a room facing the right way.

Budget hotel with free parking

Posted 21-Sep-2017
The good parts first; the bed was very comfortable and the shower had hot water with good water pressure. There was parking in the grounds and free wifi. Now for the bad bits: this is a budget hotel with no frills. The food in the restaurant was only passable. The room was very small with no wardrobe, or refrigerator. Oh and don't take your cat, there is no room to swing it. It was a 10 minute walk to the docks and large shopping mall. Overall, this hotel was reasonable value if you are not looking for luxury.

Nice hotel

lovely hotel only downfall I thought was in the room. To get into bathroom was a step. Stayed on hotels but never had to step into bathroom. When your half asleep and stub your toe .

Bed

Comfortable bed to end your day. Although rooms and beds are smaller than the nearby competition, they are more comfortable we found.

Posted 20-Aug-2017
Pros: Staff & position.
Location: Close to Albert dock & shopping centre
My husband was taken ill while during our stay & went to hospital by ambulance. The staff were so good, showed concern & empathy. Went out of their way to be helpful. I sincerely thank them.

Nice hotel and nice staff will definitely stop again. 10 minutes walk to the town and it's right on the docks.
