Disappointing hotel

Posted 06-Apr-2017
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Ensuring the entrance is not used by smokers late night/early hours. Room size and facilities unlikely to be addressed nor is the lack of lift.
Location: Built on the Queens dock site, but unfortunately adjacent to a main road which is busy day/night. Adjacent site undeveloped and an eyesore.
Booked in for 2 nights only stayed one - even though on the 3rd floor was kept awake by guests outside front door smoking, arguing loudly and noisy. Closing window made room too warm. Also regular helicopter flights, constant traffic, ambulance/police car Syren's all aggregated discomfort. The restaurant was clean but quality of food more akin to a fast food service. As mentioned we cut short our stay leaving a day early.

Quiet little hotel 5mins from city centre

Posted 07-Mar-2017
Always a pleasure staying here, everything I could ask for. pleasant and helpful staff always happy to help. If it's quiet drink with an excellent meal you enjoy, I'd definitely recommend the dolby. Keep up the good work folks, see you in the near future.

Room is really small

Posted 03-Mar-2017
Cons: The price, the smell, the food, ect.
The room is really small, the food is overpriced, and overall not the best hotel in Liverpool.

Does everything it needs to!

Handy location for the city centre and free parking without breaking the bank! While there's nothing flash about the hotel there's certainly nothing wrong with what they offer. Staff are friendly, there's a restaurant and bar, rooms have everything you need. Ok the bathroom "pods" are compact but I'm far from petite and had no issues.

Too cramped

Posted 17-Feb-2017
Cons: Investing in a lift, or if not, being asked if help needed carrying luggage to the room.
Wasn't impressed with the room. It was smaller than I anticipated. I had reserved a twin room and instead I got a double bed. The bathroom was an accident waiting to happen as it was a foot off the floor of the room. The bathroom itself was much too small - one step from the WC and you were standing in the shower. It's also not value for money as there is no lift.

Very good location for visiting Liverpool shopping

Posted 11-Feb-2017
Pros: inexpensive
Cons: Nothing for the price you pay
Location: Location excellent for Albert dock, Shopping, Sightseeing.
Friendly staff, Good nights sleep coupled with free parking 15 minutes walk from town centre. I would recommend to anyone visiting Liverpool requiring inexpensive accommodation.

Excellent facility - service a little disapointing

Posted 11-Jan-2017 on Hotels
A little disappointing - Some confusion over the booking - I had added an addition day to my booking, yet on arrival the reception staff had no record of this (This has happened previously when using your service, booking via the App) - Overall, as always at the Dolby very pleasant and the location is excellent. Confusion at reception upon check-in was frustrating, particularly as this has happened before with yourselves - It took some time to iron out the issue - following this I was advised I had booked 2 separate one day bookings so would need to come to reception the following morning almost to check in/out again (not a huge inconvenience, however if I were in this situation as a service provider I would have looked to be more accomadating). On the late morning/afternoon of the second day of my staff, there was building / maintenance work it seemed being completed in the room next door or adjacent. The purpose of the visit was a Christmas visit to visit friends, the afternoons I like to spend at the hotel however to enjoy the room and the facilities - this was not possible due to the noise levels. I understand entirely that this type of work must take place to maintain the quality of the facilities,I imagine the week building up to Christmas was quiet business wise so possibly an ideal time - completely understandable - what was missing for me was notification - a pre-warning of the inconvenience - In summary excellent facility but lacking personal touch - Regards John M
