Cramped hotel. No food

Posted 12-Jul-2016
Cons: It's a hotel in an old building. Not sure how it could be improved except they need to update their room information that there is no food.
Hotel is conveniently located near the university. However it is not handicapped friendly. The hallways are cramped and have frequent doors which in some cases compromise stairs. Luggage is a nightmare to negotiate. Also they have no restaurant so you have to walk if you want to eat. Services are limited in the area on Sundays. Street noise was loud and you can basically hear through the walls. There is no way to cool the room on a hot day except the window to the street. If you close the heavy curtain for privacy, the room gets stuffy fast.

No lift

Posted 20-May-2016 on Hotels
The lack of a lift should be explained when booking for those up the top of the hotel. Key cards should be reliable so guests do not have to clamber up and down stairs when they fail. My room did not have a phone although included in the booking.Receptionist failed to notice this when I booked an alarm call.

missed out on a £89 room so booked a £99 superior room, was pleasantly suprised at the difference a tenner makes! room had four poster bed, full length mirrors, and good sized modern bathroom.Friends room was a standard double room, smaller than mine(but had a bigger matress size+the bathroom was huge but old looking)Hotel staff were LOVELY!Super friendly, couldnt ask for better, only issue was how busy check in/check outs can be but they had the time for you, very much to be commended. Only stayed one night due to the weekend rate turning double my booking price on the saturday but totally to be expected with tourism so high in liverpool+being so close to town+ staying in a sweet room(pay the extra for a superior,it IS worth it)so wtvr.booking in advance probably helps,i left my booking late(3/4 days before).really nice,short-walk-to-central but not in town so much as youd ever hear noise to keep you awake, would recommend to anyone looking to stay in liverpool. Didnt have breakfast, plenty of good places to eat in lpool Didnt use wifi, but ipod docking station in room

If you want to stay at a hostel there's one a few yards down the road called "Hatters", at least you would avoid the pretence of "Best Western" and "Hotel". On the other hand if you think by staying at Feathers that you're spending hard earned money on a clean room, comfortable bed, quiet, a shower that works - then think again, you will get none of the above in this disgusting hole and you will basically be fleeced by the shameless institution that runs this dive.

Awful, just awful

Posted 06-May-2016 on Hotels
This place has the atmosphere of a hostel or a very run-down bnb. The room was noisy (bed by door, slamming of doors by the nasty clientele in adjacent rooms all night) and absolutely filthy (see photo of dust behind the table). The shower didn't work, it was one of those decrepit Triton things that could only do one of two things: dribble cold water or dribble scolding water. I chose the cold option. Hallmark Hotels who run this dive (it's got nothing to do with Best Western) should be ashamed of themselves.
