Maki's Place

Maki's Place

10/10 Excellent
"Amazing hotel! We were so pleased! Brand new facilities, super clean and modern decorated pool area with 2 modern indoor showers besides the outdoor one. The rooms are kept so clean and updated furnishings and a delicious restaurant attached that got quite busy at night. Yet walls are thick so slept the best in Greece. Note: Maki’s is at New Port so a short fun Seabus ride to the busy Old Port where all the cruises and dance clubs and shopping are. But the New Port is 3 mins from Maki’s so it is the new port where ferries come in."

10/10 Excellent
"The rooms had an incredible view. The hotel itself is beautiful with many spots to sit and enjoy the views. The free shuttle to downtown is highly appreciated given the costs of transportation. The breakfast was very good with many choices and high quality food and drinks. We tried the restaurant for dinner as well and it was pretty good and the prices were reasonable compared to elsewhere on the island. Just a couple of comments: The pool was kind of cold, so we were reluctant to use it. This is despite visiting in mid-August. The beach was not a good alternative because it was too windy there, and it was hard to find seats if you go a bit late. It started emptying around 2-3pm. The jacuzzi was nice. Otherwise, it was a nice luxurious and enjoyable stay."

"Excellent hotel if you want a secluded location away from all the tourists and all the shopping. The main attractions are far from the hotel. The only issue we had was with the showers. They had a wet humid moldy smell when we opened the glass doors. Both were slowly draining and and when I called to have one of them looked at, the lady that came with a guy to look at it asked me "what would you like me to do?" At that point I knew nothing would be done, I would assume if I called to have the drain looked it, was because I don't like showering with dirty water on my feet, but that's just me. Other than that the place was clean, excellent location for a peaceful relaxing vacation away from all the noise of busy city. Special thank you to the manager and staff who tried to help us find flights to Santorini and Athens after our ferry was canceled due to weather conditions."
