Nice hotel in a quiet area of Lisbon.

Posted 29-Mar-2017
Pros: The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and helpful
Cons: Nothing
Location: The hotel is near Marques Pombal which is a bit of a walk away from the main sights but there were frequent buses. It is near Eduardo VII park .
We had a little trouble finding the hotel as 2 road names appear to be given in the address. Nice hotel in a quiet area.

The hotel was great except for the bed very uncomfortable. The room was small but met our needs. The staff is excellent, the buffet breakfast was very good. The hotel is very centrally located, we could walk almost everywhere.

Nice hotel and central to shops, bus, harbour

Posted 11-Sep-2016
Pros: It's central location and friendly staff.
Cons: Improving staffs local knowledge and language skills.
Location: Central location - hop on hop off boat, bus or tram. The hotel can organise day trips. Lots of activity brochures available.
We had a pleasant stay. The staff were mostly helpful but communication was sometimes difficult. It was easy to get around and there are lots of attractions within a 10-20 minute walk. The bathroom was very tiny.

Lisbon getaway

Posted 28-Aug-2016 on Hotels
I stayed one night at Dom Carlos Liberty. It was a great stay. I arrived alittle early and was checked in right away. Hotel front desk staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The bellhop took my luggage and escorted me to my room! Breakfast was included. It was delicious wiyh a variety of hot and cold food items. I would definitely stay again when in Lisbon!

Unexpected costs & strange policies

Posted 14-Jul-2016 on Orbitz
Arrived w/ a second guest and was told I had originally been put in a room with a single bed (although I requested a standard room). Then charged an extra $15/nt. for a standard double room. I don't understand that. A key card is required to turn on the lights and air conditioning in the room. Every time this is done, you have to call the front desk and have them disable some kind of lock on the air conditioning. It's absurd. I was put in a room immediately outside the maid's closet so that there was noise from 8am every day, and people constantly outside the door. The staff were at least relatively helpful and friendly, but I felt the hotel's policies were cheap, the carpets could use an upgrade, and the room was small. Overall not very impressed.
