The hotel was a great place to stay and provided everything for our needs as older adults. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the location just right and the breakfast food delicious. We will definitely return.

Casa Vela Boutique House and its garden grounds were absolutely stunning. Our room was spacious and beautifully decorated with a tranquil view of the lush gardens and pools. Our balcony had lounge chairs, as well as a patio table and chair set. We had stair access to the pool below. Casa Vela's on-line pictures give you a good understanding of their hotel. In person, it impresses more. The stylish sitting and dining areas for guests were comfortable and inviting. There was an outdoor courtyard and a spacious balcony off both areas if you wanted to have a glass of wine or enjoy breakfast outside. The staff was very accommodating, always friendly. The hotel is located about a ten/fifteen-minute walk from Cascais town center. We walked to the bus and train station everyday with ease. The train to Lisbon is a 40-minute ride, 30 minutes to Belem, never once thought staying in Lisbon would have been better. While the return to the hotel is uphill, we appreciated the views and the feeling of being part of the very attractive (and safe) neighborhood. Breakfast was always tasty, with a variety of fresh fruits, cheeses, meats, eggs, breakfast breads and pastries, and juice. We took advantage of the shuttle service to the airport. Our driver was on-time, friendly, and a careful driver. We stayed five nights and wished our stay could have been longer. I highly recommend Casa Vela and should I return to Cascais will stay here again.

What an amazing place most beautiful buildup with gorgeous rooms and wonderful shared areas, loved the lounge with honesty bar (and cat) and the gardens were lovely. We were in room 12 really comfortable and quiet.

I enjoyed my stay. Located in a quiet part of town and restaurants are nearby. 10 minutes walking to historic town center. Very spacious room. My only complaint would be a trash can in the room would be nice. And they have a sweet car Mia, please give her a pet if you stay there.

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Vela. We were given an incredible room with access to a lovely garden. The staff was ever so kind and helpful. The hotel is a gem hidden away in an oasis of a garden. We will be returning soon!!!

We just returned home after spending 10 days at this beautiful place. It’s so pretty here, comfortable and quiet. Staff is very friendly and helpful, it’s about 15 to 20 minutes to walk to the centre of town which is very pretty with lots of restaurants to choose from. Don’t leave without visiting Sintra, well worth it! We took a private tour with a very nice lady by the name of Mafala. You can get more info from the staff at the hotel. Would highly recommend this place to friends and family!

Beautiful hotel! The pool was amazing. Our check in was ok but we arrived at 9am from a long flight and with a small kid - and our room was only ready at 4pm - the room cleaning service was overall very slow all days. Aside from that, things were great.

Relaxing stay
Amazing little hotel. Rooms are big and super beautiful with huge balconies. Lots of pretty landscaping and feels like you’re in an oasis. Both pools are really nice. Super close to downtown (5-10 mins), but far enough removed that it’s not loud or busy. I was looking for a relaxing vacation to unwind, and I got exactly that. Would 100% stay again

A great stay in Cascais
What a fabulous place! We loved the room, the grounds are amazing and the main pool was never too busy, set in the beautiful gardens. The guesthouse is within an easy walk of the hustle and bustle of Cascais centre and the beaches. It’s also easy to jump on the train into Lisbon where the castle is a must. I’d absolutely recommend this place!!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Casa Vela. The garden and pools were lovely, and the in-room kitchen and bathrooms were quite functional. We had a few small dislikes/issues with this property and the staff, however, which dampen our enthusiasm to recommend it to others. 1) The pool/beach towels were not replaced unless you specifically tracked down hotel staff to replace them for you. 2) Our luggage was just left in the public hallway when we arrived early, or after checkout before we were able to return for them. 3) The AC was barely functioning, and the staff were generally reluctant to even acknowledge this issue or be helpful in resolving it. 4) the common areas and room themselves were quite dated, including with a poor wifi connection. All that said, we loved our time in Caiscais, and did not need to spend much time in the room given the ideal location and wonderful gardens on this property.

Casa Vela was absolutely amazing and so much more then we expected for the price which was outstanding value. The place was spotless and could not find one fault with the place. We loved our 2 night’s stay here. The extensive gardens are very natural with two pretty pools. Buffet breakfast was enjoyable, with a good selection of fresh fruit, breads, cold meats & cheese etc. Juice machine for fresh orange & an excellent coffee machine. Room was so clean, large (we had a junior suite) & beautifully decorated & furnished. Sadly had one full day of rain but would love to return for longer.

This place is just a piece of paradise. The garden and the common areas are amazing. Beauty and awe everywhere you look. Our room (the cheapest in the hotel) was a bit small, but convenient and very charming all the same. Convenient walking distance to the tourists area of Cascais.

Beautiful ground, lovely staff, and a very welcoming lounge and honor bar. The room itself was very quiet and comfortable. My only reason for not giving this hotel a full 5/5 score is that the room's bathroom is not at all private - the toilet and shower were both separated from the rest of the room by a transparent glass wall and maybe a light curtain (depending on your room), so you should make sure you are very comfortable and open with whomever you're traveling with.
