Great and unusual place
Booked this place for a 1 night trip to Lincoln due to its high user ratings. I would certainly agree with them. The place has no onsite staff and access is via a key code. Not tried this style before. The room is clean and small double bed comfortable and room facilities are great with the usual coffee/tea/hot chocolate. You do not get a hot English breakfast but bread, milk, Kelloggs cereals, toaster are provided. For those on a budget, I would certainly recommend.

Expensive Mistake
I booked my room and heard nothing. I couldn’t get in as I required a key to a key-code box to get into the building. I had no credit on my phone and was forced to use a passerby’s and then after waiting with no response had to top up my own phone with credit costing me more money. Once in the building I found my room which was nice, definitely not four star worthy. The shower was very temperamental and kept changing from hot to cold. I was by the main road so it was very noisy and I felt a bit unsafe with only blinds separating me from onlookers. The bed itself was awful. It was like sleeping on the old metal beds they put in scouts/army cabins and the pillow was flat. I got four hours sleep in total before being woken up by other guests using the kitchen at 6am. Would not stay again and really for the price I paid, would like a refund.

Essential trip to see dying father
Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to complain about the level and quality of service we received at the Tennyson Guest House in Lincoln on the night of 13th 14th June 2020. We came to Lincoln to be with my elderly mother and father, aged 88 and 97 respectively. Father is in a care Home and at the end of his life and Mother has no-one else to look after her. We live 200 miles away and could not get up and back in a day. We were surprised and pleased to find, via Hotels.com, that there was a convenient Guest House open. Nowhere in the Hotels.com information did it say that the property was self catering and not staffed at all. It implied that the property was a 4* Guest House with free parking, breakfast included and free Wifi, all of which we required. Only when we were on the way did I receive an email giving access codes and saying that there were no staff on the premises. When we arrived and checked in a cursory glance showed the room to be spacious and clean, although we were concerned that there were no notices or instructions regarding social distancing and safety re Covid19, or details of extra deep cleaning regimes between guests stay in the room. When we returned to the room in the evening to go to bed we found that the bedlinen was crumpled and did not feel very fresh, and there was a single sheet on the double bed so it was not properly made up. The duvet was heavy and poor quality. We did not sleep well. The bulb in one of the bedside lamps was not working either. In th
