Nice small hotel on the Lido facing Venice

Posted 18-Jul-2017
Small but comfortable ๐Ÿ˜€ Rooms as others said are on the small size but clean, up to date and tidy. You're in Venice - how much non-sleeping time are you going to waste in a hotel room? A moping would help with the dust occasionally! Breakfast was good for a hotel of this size, from fruit to meat/cheese as well as fresh croissants from the bakery next door - all self-service in the small dining room (got very busy once or twice). Nothing ran out and wasn't replaced. There is a roof terrace but its poorly used - shame it could be a great asset. No bar there and no breakfast - there are tables and chairs. Staff all friendly and it's really handy for the water transport. Just down the main lido road there's a small supermarket open till 11, lots of places to eat, and the first ice-cream shop on the left down that road sell cracking stuff๐Ÿ˜‹

Nice and conveniently located hotel

Posted 14-Jul-2017
Nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff in a convenient location. The room had a good balcony which was a bonus. The Lido is a great place to stay. Coffee making facilities would have been a good addition

Fantastic location next to the Vaporetto stop

Posted 04-Jul-2017
The location was perfect for us, we purchased 3 day Vaporetto passes and were able to be in the at San Marco within 20-30 mins. The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were friendly. Would have liked to have tea/coffee facilities in the room, and maybe more choice at breakfast, but overall had a lovely stay and will recommend to others.

Great location, if a bit noisey

Posted 28-Jun-2017
Pros: Location, price. Great coffee!
Cons: I felt that charging $20 a day for the private beach was excessive. Breakfast needs more variety. No melon for the proscuitto? Stale bread. Blah.
Location: Quick 10 minute ride to Piazza San Marco. Walk around the island down the side streets to eat at one of the "local" restaurants. Must go to beach!
We picked this hotel because of location - it was close to the water taxis and buses and a short ferry ride to Piazza San Marco. We had a great room with a view of Piazza San Marco. We also decided on Lido because it was much less crowded. Lido is very beautiful and "quaint". The room was very small and there was nowhere to sit other than the bed. TV was not a TV, more of a computer screen. All satellite channels I tried were in Italian. Not that I was dying to watch TV, but it would have been nice to catch the morning news in the states before heading to bed. The shower was RIDICULOUSLY small. Really small. Like don't drop the soap because you cannot bend down to get it! The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. We also liked that we could have a quick breakfast at the hotel before heading out for the day. The walk to the beach was not bad at all, probably about 10 minutes. We passed the local market on the way and would pick up food for lunch on the beach later. There was also a great restaurant, which for some reason the hotel did not recommend, called Laguna, I think. If you left the hotel and go left, past the vaparetto station it's right there on the water. The only down side to the location was the noise. You need to keep the windows closed because it gets LOUD. Good news is that closing the windows does the trick.

Ideal for grandparents with grandchildren.

Posted 07-Jun-2017
Pros: The staff are very welcoming and helpful.
We took our granddaughters, 14 and 12, to Venice for a few days. The hotel was very well located. It is an easy trip from the airport, only a few steps from the ferry station. We had a lovely view across the lagoon from our room 302, which comfortably accommodated all four of us. St Mark's Square is only minutes away by ferry, so we were able to enjoy the cultural delights of Venice in the morning, return to the Lido, buy some lunch at the lovely bakery underneath the hotel, and let the girls enjoy the beach in the afternoon. There is a busy public beach about 10 mins from the hotel. You can sit on the beach for nothing, but an umbrella and beds will cost (a lot!). The public beach is right next to that which once was part of the famous Grand Hotel des Bains (Death in Venice).

Brilliant location - more of a 3 Star standard.

Posted 23-May-2017
While the hotels location was brilliant the standard wasn't great. The bed was uncomfortable & standard of furnishings poor. Overall however the hotel worked well for us as we were out and about.

Great location

Posted 17-May-2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Rating guide
Location: The Lido is a great location to be- a very pleasant 10 minute water ride to Venice actually added to the experience.
Although the hotel is well located opposite the water taxi terminal, we found the hotel to be average at best and no more than a 3 star- not the 4 star advertised. Upon check in, we were showed a sub standard room, and then offered an upgrade at 50 Euros which we obviously took- seemed like a well rehearsed stunt. That being said, the hotel and staff were pleasant enough and enjoyed our stay.

great location, good breakfast, recommend it

Posted 16-May-2017
Very happy with the choice of hotel. Staff were friendly, room clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a great choice to offer. Location was excellent, over the road to the water bus terminal with only a 15 min trip to St Mark's Square. On Lido island itself, there are plenty of restaurants, a few shops and the beach is only 15 min walk. Definitely stay here again.

Junior suite room with a view.

Posted 25-Apr-2017
Stayed here from Friday 21/04 until 24/4 & really enjoyed the experience. Very close to the pier for easy transportation by boat to Venice. The hotel staff were very helpful, suggesting a 3 day boat pass, activities, offered upgrade of room, where to eat etc making the whole Venice experience one to remember. The hotel is close to lovely restaurants in the main street of the Lido & spoilt for choice for ice cream. The food & drink prices are cheaper than those in the centre of Venice too.The breakfast is a good & varied continental style of good quality.
