I chose to stay here for two nights while I was visiting Glyndebourne. Carol and Ceri were so friendly and welcoming. They took such good care of me and made sure that I wanted for nothing. The room I was given was large and extremely comfortable with a private bathroom that overlooked the beautiful
garden. Breakfast was always delicious and served in the conservatory. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

Nice little hotel tucked into a side street off High Street, the main thoroughfare in Lewes. Service staff is young and attentive; they quickly fixed a problem with our sink. Room was large and comfortable though the bath had no window and became rather hot since the heated towel rack was fixed on. In house restaurant was popular, and not only with overnight guests, however we can't comment on quality as we only ate in the bar area where the light food was superb, light and sophisticated. Breakfasts are wonderful, especially the apricot, prune and fig compote. Overall a wonderful, charming hotel.

The title of this review says it all. The staff were extremely friendly despite being really busy.
Food was really worth going out of your way for.
Our room was clean and comfortable. There was no TV, but that was a bonus for me.
Couldn't fault this pub, and would definitely recommend it.

We stayed in Room No. 1, which was described as a small double and it certainly was 'cosy' ie not enough room for both of us to walk round the bed at the same time! Having said that, it was a lovely room with a vaulted ceiling. Our accommodation was in a separate block to the pub and was presumably an old converted area for the coaches and it had a lot of character with big doors etc. I wasn't totally sure if it was original as it seemed well done, but certainly the rest of the pub was very old and kept it's original charm. We had dinner out, but had breakfast - you had to say what time you wanted breakfast when you checked in. When we arrived for breakfast we were the only people there, so we had breakfast all our ourselves. Cereal etc was adequate. We were asked if we wanted a cooked breakfast, but didn't have any choice of what we wanted (the lady dashed off straight away) - I have no doubt you could request something different like scrambled eggs instead of fried, but be quick to ask! The cooked breakfast was ok. All in all, a lovely pub with lots of old-world charm and a beautiful location.

We had a short, two night stay at the White Hart and only had breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast was very good and all the staff we met were pleasant and efficient. The hotel is steeped in history and is enjoyable to experience.

Very quiet. Clean, comfortable, spacious room. Pleasant view over gardens. Hotel decor a little tired. Disappointing that bar was not open for Saturday lunch as advertised, but plenty of alternatives in town.
