Beside the Sirkka village there looms the well-known winter sports destination of Levi, where you try your skiing skills on a total of 43 different slope levels. A winter holiday in Levi is a fun experience for the whole family, since children have been taken into account in the downhill centre with separately targeted sites. Located in the municipality of Kittilä area is Levitunturi and its surroundings are an interesting place to visit at other times of the year. There is guaranteed magnificent nature and specifically designed activities for the summer season to enjoy the fun.
Begin your trip to Levi, located in the village of Sirkka, from the Levi Ski Centre, where you can find all the important services, from accommodation to equipment rentals. Go directly to the main slope or visit with the offshoot Kids Land, where Leevi Wolverine plays with the children. From Kids Land, one can borrow sledges and sliders, and there are three lifts for children. Tenavatokka operates in the same place, where a child can be cared for during the duration of your wild downhill trip.
Besides Eturinne, Levi has three other downhill ski sites, as well as the Snow Park, which is a park designed for stunts. Lead the way, if you enjoy a challenge by trying out the presses, rails and boxes. Departing from South Point to the southern slopes, next to the second service conglomeration, there are dining locations and the Muksutupa childcare facility, as well as lifts and ski slopes. In addition to Levi, the northeast slopes and southeast slopes provide additional challenges for skilled downhill skiers.
Accommodation and trips to Levi are easy to book in Sirkka, in the Kittilä municipality, or elsewhere in the mountain fell environment. Travel between the ski slopes and nearby sites is made easy as you can jump directly onto the Ski Bus. Winter season takes place between October and May, so it is worthwhile hunting for trips to Levi at other times. Levi has plenty to do outside of the ski season, as it also has a short summer in Lapland and the colourful autumn attracts tourists to the area. On the south side of the fell mountain there id, for example, the Activity Park, where you will find, among other things, a summer toboggan track for climbing to the Adventure Park and the Gondoli2000-lift view. The kids will enjoy their own track in the Adventure Park transport and playground.
Also go and stretch your legs at the Levi ski slopes nature trails or full-scale wilderness trekking. The adventurous get from Levi, which is a stunning destination any time of year, to the Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park. On the Levi fell slopes there are also many marked trails guided by signs, such as a geological path or the path of bygone days, where you have access to the region's history and geography at the same time.
Levi is easily reached by flying to Kittilä airport, or by arriving by train to Kolari or Rovaniemi station. The nature of Lapland offers experience in Levi both in summer as well as winter.
