Mangia's Brucoli, Sicily, Autograph Collection
10/10 Excellent
"Overall an excellent stay. Our suite (with a private pool) was modern, clean and comfortable - most critically with a soft bed (italian beds are usually so hard) and effective but quiet aircon (so you could have it on all night). At the pool there are comfy sunloungers and we always had brand new fluffy pool towels. The main pool was usually very busy - but not an issue for us as we camped out at the adults pool. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Lunch and drinks at Lime Bar were also always to a high standard. The evening buffet, and the a-la carte restaurants were a bit hit & miss - the pizza restaurant the best of the bunch. Staff very helpful, maybe just too few of them on occassion. Note that this hotel really is off the beaten track. Brucoli village is close - but there is nothing there to see or do. Don't bother going and certainly pay for the water taxi from the hotel. Overall - thoroughly recommend."

8/10 Good
"The hotel itself is cool. Part of the hotel is an art gallery and it was a nice surprise. The hotel is inconspicuous and a bit difficult to spot from the outside. There is a huge ironclad door that is somewhat unmarked. You have to call on the call box from someone to let you in. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Easy check in. The elevator is super tiny. My husband and I couldn’t both fit with our suitcases. The attendant brought everything up. The room was gorgeous. Separate living area with a piano when you walk in. Books littered about with a love seat, a mini coffee bar and refrigerator hidden behind an art piece. The room was spacious with an armoire. Large bathroom with shower (with a funky string pull we couldn’t figure out), toilet, and bidet. The next morning posed a challenge! We couldn’t fit on the elevator with our luggage so we decided to try and walk down. Inside doors leading to the stairwell were all locked! We were trapped inside! Luckily our room only locked by metal key so we had to go back to the room, get the key and jimmy the door open. Then we had to do the same with the ironclad door that leads to outside. Quite confusing and inconvenient. We almost missed our car to the airport. Overall it’s a nice hotel, in a decent location, within walking distance to several restaurants. But entry and exit were big problems. I’d stay again knowing what I know now."
