Really poor experience. The hotel is tired, tatty and musty. The staff are any combination of incompetent, unmotivated and under resourced Breakfast was a joke, 30 minutes we waited to put an order in, nothing. One member of staff tryimg to cover 30 people across multiple rooms. Had to leave and find a McDonald's in the end. Avoid like the plague, much better places to stay locally.

we arrived late and were not really impressed with the Hotel in general, our room was dirty i.e. dead bugs on window sill crisps on floor carpets heavily stained beds were uncomfortable just really poor. I complained the following morning, you can't blame staff as it's not their hotel so it's up to upper management / owners to really take a hard look at this and make changes drastic changes sooner than later. Anyway Michelle the on duty manager was very helpful and understanding and offered us two new rooms as there were me my wife and our son staying. The rooms were far better than our first but again cleanliness was poor (bedding okay and towels) In my opinion it's just being run on a shoestring and understaffed.

Cold first night left bad impression
Generally the hotel was ok but my first night I arrived late and was placed in a room with no heating on a cold night. The air con was not working and they had placed a small oil heater in the room but it seemed to switch off after 15mins. I had a very cold and restless night. When I raised it the next morning they dealt with it well and I was moved to a much better room.

hotel had been excellent when we previously visited prior to covid. However maintenence was sadly lacking. we booked an upgrade following email from hotel only to find no heating or hot water in exec double rooms. moved to older part of hotel which although had heating was not as nice as newer parts of hotel. Probelm getting suitable plug for bath. Staff very helpful but hamstrung by poor maintenence. considering what we paid we wouldnt stay there again.

I'd say, pretty average.
The room was OK. My only real complaint was that the heating didn't work in my room. In my friends room they complained that it was too hot. Obviously their heating worked. It all looked like it needed a facelift.

Comfortable and clean with friemdly, helpful staff
Clean, modern large double room with kingsized bed which was so comfortable. Only issue was shower curtain needed replacing as there was some mould which had been cleaned but didn't look nice especially when the rest of the bathroom and bedroom were so lovely!

Most delightful stay, clean spacious and comfortable. Friendly check in. Didn’t eat here so can’t comment on service and food served.Lovely quiet location with great grounds next to river.
