I was doing a late check in and arrived at the hotel at 11 pm. The hotel was closed. I had to book another hotel. It did not so on the website that hotel closed at 11pm

Room was moldy no housekeeping
I used this hotel as it was right at the front gate of the base. I booked 2 rooms. My room had a strong mold smell which I discovered the day of checkout was due to the curtins backing being covered in mold. My other room the ac didnt work properly and the microwave also didnt work. There were limted customer services available. We had issues with our door keys multiple times. I never saw anyone from housekeeping and there was no overnight person in the front office.

Staff was outstanding! The hotel is convenient. Room was dirty. Don't think the sheet had been changed from the last person. Bed comfortable (after I changed the sheets). Floor dirty, shower dirty, didn't make the bed, or wipe out the sink. Roaches.

The microwave was not fastened overhead, laying on counter, TV didn’t work for 4 days, door safety latch was broke, door wouldn’t close, and latch without lots of effort.

Basic basic necessities
The facility has scaled down from the previous hotel with amenities and breakfast. Has gone through remodel to include kitchenette in each unit. A lot of paintovers instead of finishes. Bed comfortable. Sheets & towels clean. Unit not totally cleaned...bought my own cleaning supplies for weeks stay. It was okay but probably wouldn't do it again.

A mixed review
The good: Better price than the other hotel that I checked on. Friendly check-in desk person. Room and bed more than adequate. The bad: Had to change rooms immediately because TWO of the lights in my first room were inoperative. The desk lamp and bed overhead light. No coffee in lobby and ONLY DECAF stocked in the room. The gym could use a purified water cooler due to the sketchy Leesville water.

Eh. Paying a little too much for what you get
The positives: There is a little kitchen our room which would have been beneficial if we stayed multiple nights. The water stayed hot throughout a long shower. The room temp stayed perfect. The cons: The place looked patched together. Sheets were rough. It overwhelming smelled like paint. The towels were rough and barely wrapped around a small child. The lighting in the room plain sucked - there was one over the door, a small one on the desk, and one over the bed, but the room still felt dark. And I couldn’t get ahold of anyone at the desk at 6a about checkout. I called multiple times and let it ring, but nothing. I’m glad I was only staying for a night.

Room hadn't been vacuumed in what appeared to be weeks. Long hairs in sink not mine. Heavy construction IN THE BUILDING commenced ALL NIGHT LONG. No sleep. Tried to report to front desk to find the phone not working. Upon investigation, found the room phone not only was not plugged in but not hooked up at all - like a prop in a play. Tried using cell to call but advised that front desk is sporadically staffed. No one available. Just awful experience. Will never come back.

Many problems
The hotel seemed new however there were a lot of problems that just seemed to keep adding up. The staff and manager were very nice, however, they could not keep up with all the problems. This included rooms that we were given that had not been cleaned, such as beds not made, trash in the room, etc, even though it was after 7 pm when we checked in. Door keys needed to be re-coded multiple times a day across all three rooms. Supplies were out, items unavailable, and there only seemed to be 1 housekeeper on duty the entire stay.

Out of coffee for rooms, no shampoos or other items. No daily room service. Must use same towels throughout stay. No trash emptied. Way overpriced. Had much better rooms at better hotels for cheaper price. Will not recommend.

Doors to the room were stuck. Handle for the toilet is broken. Microwave did not work. The hot water disappeared while taking a shower while it was in the low 40's outside. Self-locking security doors do not lock. The one near the front desks had a nylon tie to keep it open.

The first night I took a bath and the water came out orange!! On the 2nd night there was no hot water. Called the front desk and was told that they had already received other complaints about it. They said they were going to fix it for the morning. It wa not fixed

Fort Polk Visit
This hotel did let me do early check in, which was perfect, for my situation. The hotel did have a horrible smell and could use a real good cleaning. The breakfast was fine. The usual. Location is perfect, if you are visiting Fort Polk. I probably won't stay here again. I do highly recommend the La Quinta, next door. Safe travels!

Great hotel! Nuke the hallway carpets
The young lady greeted me pleasantly at the front desk that night. When I got to my room, the door on the shower was shut, both ways, and did not budge. I went back to the front desk and they changed my room immediately. The room was nice and comfortable. However, the carpet in the hall needs to be removed at once. The odor of mildew was overpowering at both the end of the hall and the center threshold. I understand high traffic, heavy dew points, etc. This hotel and its staff are too good to put up with awful carpeting. Just strip it bare and seal the cement or put in tile. In that environment, no carpet will last long and the overall rating of the hotel will take a hit. Very convenient location to Ft Polk.

Horrible!
We checked in to room 101. After unpacking, there was no hot water and phones did not work. The hallways smelled like stagnant water. They did move us to 121, where hot water worked, room smelt horrible, killed spiders, the room was not made up first night, the rest of stay only one of the two b da were made. We left a day early due the hotel conditions. Asked to have manager call me and am still waiting 3 days later. Tried to call hotel and got no answer. Horrible experience.
