Second weekend in a row at the Britannia. The convenience of location to my family is the only thing to recommend about it (plus the price, I guess). The rooms and loo are not clean, our window didn’t close tightly so the highway sounds and draft were annoying and the cigarette smoke in the hallway on our ‘non smoking’ floor wasn’t pleasant. It was strictly a place to sleep whilst dealing with family and even that wasn’t great.

You pay for what you get! Walls are really thin, you can hear everything going on next door. other guests very noisy and inconsiderate.

Have stayed here a few times as it’s very close to the in-laws. It’s a run down hotel plane and simple. The rooms are not cleaned properly. There are always spots on the surfaces of the tables, beard trimmings at the back of the sink close to the mirror and this last time, orange peels on the floor by the bed. Having said that, we’ve stayed at worse and the location and price are too convenient to pass up. They’re always busy, so I may just be picky. A thorough cleaning of the whole place would go a long way.

Dirty, smelly, noisy! Never again !!

Main problem was cleanliness or lack of it! Cracked washbasin, carpets dirty under beds, to of radiator filthy, chest of drawers dirty. On the plus side the bed is as clean (or I would have left!) The corridor was very smelly for the first 4 days (smelt like sewerage!) but then improved, The lift was also dirty and smelly. The room was noisy, doors banging all night prevented me from sleeping noises like furniture being moved as well. It was a far from restful stay and I would not stay again ! I have stayed at other Britannia hotels many times but will not stay at this one again !
