Very disappointing experience with this inn's management. I have a problem during booking with Expedia, that led me to believe that the reservation with this merchant had not gone through (Expedia never confirmed the reservation); yet I was charged by Black Swan(BSI) for it. When I noticed this error I called BSI; in the morning of the booking, hoping they could refund me and release the room that I would not be occupying. They refused to reimburse me, even though their business was not affected by this cancellation (they had plenty of vacancies that day, so this error did not prevent them from having their rooms busy) yet they declined to honor my request which was made in good faith. Cancellation fees are valid to prevent abuse or impact on revenue, but this bogus reservation (thanks Expedia) couldn't have kept any other visitor from staying at this inn that day; again, they had plenty of vacancies to fill. Greed prevailed over courtesy, which doesn't speak well of BSI management. I am a frequent Berkshires' visitor; there are many wonderful inns with excellent and very graceful client service in the area; I will stay away from BSI in future trips.
