The hotel is in a small town and serves as a great starting point for touring the area incl. Castle Neuschwanstein. It is family operated and everyone is very friendly and helpful. The house restaurant is excellent!

Met all my expectations, great stay
The hotel exceeded my expectations. This is a family run hotel and the Pohler family went the extra mile to make my stay pleasant. I was on the way to Germany with a set plan when I booked the hotel and had I known the area was so beautiful and the hotel was going to be so great I would have spent extra time sightseeing and staying in the hotel. From the beginning as we got a bit late they allowed us extra time to eat at the restaurant as it was Sunday night and everything around us was closed. The rooms were clean and large enough as we got a family room with a balcony and a junior suite. The parking is onsite and there is no extra charge to park. The breakfast was great with lots of choices and the family speaks English if your German is spotty. I chose this location in Austria as I was making a detour in Hohenschwangau to visit the bavarian king castles and I was coming from Italy but I underestimated the beauty of this area in general. I will definitely include an extended visit the next time I stop by Austria and will definitely consider the hotel for such extended stay.

I picked this place location based on ChatGPT. The result matches my expectations. The service was good and everyone was friendly, even so they mostly didn't talk English at all. They even did my laundry for me. Breakfast was included but not my type of a rich breakfast. Maybe it what Austrian are used to, though. Didn't bother me too much. Location is just 100 - The city is small and quiet but very close to the hikes and landscapes I was looking for.

Both the hotel owner and his wife have been warm, welcoming and very helpful in all our requests. Room was comfortable. Parking is right at the hotel’s doorstep.

This beautiful hotel boutique was just so quaint, cozy and staff was so friendly and hospitable. When we arrived late at night, the owner that greeted us was so kind and friendly, made all accommodations to make us feel welcomed and at home, with snacks and hot tea. One of The best memory from our trip.

A nice hotel in a beautiful area!
The hotel is in small village close to the German border. The surrounding area is beautiful with mountains and alpine meadows. The check in was smooth. We received the booked room which was adequate for 2 people. We had a small balcony with mountain views. There is an on site restaurant with good food and drinks. The hotel staff was very friendly and always were helpful with activity assistance. The hotel even has electric mountain bikes to rent! We had a wonderful time in the area and enjoyed our stay in the hotel.

The owners and staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and pleasant, well appointed. The breakfast buffet and the menu at dinner were also very good. The inn is old-fashioned and charming in decor but modern and convenient in facilities. We would highly recommend it!

A cosy hotel, in a sweet city.
This is a cosy hotel, in a sweet city. We loved each minute that we spent there. Everyone made every detail more special. The internet was one of the main things for us, and was perfect. great and huge room, with special candies.

Lovely family-run hotel
It's a lovely family-run hotel in a beautiful place. The included breakfast was delicious, and the hospitality was wonderful. My only complaint is that my mattress was very uncomfortable and felt like it had lost its structural integrity. But that is likely not the case for all the beds in the place, and it is a problem easily fixed.

In terms of pros, Hotel breakfast wasnt bad and you have a small sauna. It’s also in a cozy town. That said we booked a king size bed and got two twins. Our room was also very run down with chipped paint. You can also hear all other guest cough and walk in their room as building isn’t very solid. As a result we didn’t sleep well at all. On top of this they turn off heating after 10pm. Our room was cold and they only offered us blankets and a broken heater. The worse part came when we voiced our concerns to the manager who was very angry and told us to leave or else he would call the police. What a bizarre and unprofessional way to react! For the price and net experience one can do much better staying in any gasthof in the area.

Thank you for your detailed rating ;-) You haven't 2 single beds, you had a family room with a large double bed, a bunk bed and a single bed :-) Keep your eyes peeled !!! Strangely, our families feel very comfortable in these rooms. Due to the fact that the turn of the year is, of course, the house is full and children (our future) are lively and like to make noise. We, the hotel manager = owner and boss and our team went out of their way to please you in every possible way. But there are people who do not have emotional intelligence and you can beat somersaults and it just will not help. In this sense, we wish you a fantastic New Year's Eve, in the new year a lot of beautiful and quiet places where you can stay, health, success, love, peace, joy, contentment and good luck. Spacious room with pretty view out the window. Very accessible and helpful staff. Wonderful dinners (we had two. ) and fantastic breakfast buffet. It’s family-owned and the building has been in the same family for 500 years!

Happy Days.
All 4 of us had a very enjoyable stay. We just did an overnight stop here between Schloss Neuschwanstein & Schloss Linderhof. It was a perfect place to stay. Staff were very friendly, efficient &courteous. Dinner was excellent, traditional fayre with a modern twist, & the full buffet breakfast was wonderful. Great coffee. We would all happily return.

This is a small hotel managed by a very small staff. It is a bit of drive to Schwangau in the morning. We were there to see the palace and the town of Schwangau. It is not a big deal to drive but there were similar or better hotels in Schwangau near the town of the Castle that we could have stayed at and saved the commute in the morning. There is nothing great about this hotel. It is just okay. There is a small hill in the background that makes it fun to watch during early morning.

Very nice hotel in as small village
Absolutely brilliant with very friendly staff and very clean rooms. The only down side was the lack of elevator/lift so I won't recommend it for people having difficaulties walking stairs, otherwise I would recommend it to everyone else.

This is a very attractive and well presented hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. Ample free parking. Good wifi. There is no air con. Restaurant was good. Annoyingly, some of the details in the hotels.com listing are inaccurate. There is no "seasonal outdoor pool". The listing claims that the hotel was built in 1600, which seems implausible.

Nice hotel. We got there kind of late. So our reserved room with a balcony was given to someone else. Other than that everything was great. They made dinner for us even though the restaurant was closing. The breakfast next morning was great. Breads and home made jams and jellies .... Amazing Definitely a strong recommend from me.

Stayed there one note just to check out the area. It was difficult because our 8 year old daughter had become ill that day. So she just wanted to rest. The rooms were not elaborate, but were very comfortable and the bunk room was great with kids. They really went over and above with service to accommodate our sick daughter by allowing us to annoyingly order off of the menu food in the hallway to take up to the room (they were completely booked out for seats). The food itself was delicious as well, so I can understand the high demand for tables!

Very Disappointed!!!
My husband and I were really looking forward to our night at the Hotel Krone. A few days before we were scheduled to arrive, we got an email that they were looking forward to seeing us. The following day we got a second email telling us that "due to a disaster" the Hotel was closed. So we scrambled to find a room in Ruette. We stopped by the Krone and found the front door locked and no sign of a disaster. There weren't many tourists in town so we're thinking that the Krone cancelled, because they didn't have many reservations on 10/23. Very disappointing indeed!
