Classic style Hotel close to town centre

Posted 09-Aug-2017
Pros: The old type lifts are particularly interesting.
Cons: The signage for the Car Park entrance could be better, especially when like me you are driving on the "wrong" side of the road.
Location: Great little town with interesting architecture. Good choice of restaurants. Watch out for "Le Welsh" on the menus
We stayed overnight on a two day break and booked this hotel particularly because of its elegant early 20th Century look. We weren't disappointed as it has that classic Edwardian resort hotel look but inside has been restored / kept to as very good modern standard. The rooms are to a good standard and comfortable. I can’t speak for the restaurant as we went out into town for our one evening there. However we took afternoon tea on the terrace twice which was a luxurious experience, especially the little extras that were served up with the tea! The hotel has plenty of parking and is very well located to explore both the town of Le Touquet and the beach and dunes on foot.

We keep on coming back!

Posted 07-Aug-2017
Pros: Quality.
Cons: Make the restaurant menu more accessible / normal (not the Pavillion the other one)
Location: Walk. Shop. Drink coffee. Eat. Look at the sea.
Lovely hotel. Delightful location. We love Le Touquet and keep on coming back, always to the Westminster.

No aircon in a hotel that charges this much for a room is a complete joke

Elegant hotel by the sea

Beautiful, well maintained hotel. We got the least expensive room. It was small but perfectly appointed. The lighting was well thought out and plentiful. Bathroom equally well thought out. Dinner at the one star Michelin restaurant was well worthwhile. Did not understand some of the excessively negative reviews of Pavillon. It was excellent. I would not necessarily thought of pairing sweetbreads with cockles and razor clams, but good restaurants push the boundaries.

Over rated and over priced

Posted 20-Apr-2017
Pros: Location close to the center
Cons: Restaurant access
Location: Close to city center, within short walking distance
A premium room = small, high and small windows, no view (4th floor) 1 star restaurant, but closed for lunch and already full in the morning. Expensive, old-fashioned and not so attractive at the end.

Was classy, not any more.

Pros: The echoes of the past. The old style lift is interesting.
Cons: Either make the place properly luxurious or drop the prices to reflect the budget level of accommodation.
Location: Le Touquet is a fun place, especially on market days. Other shopping is also good. Sea front very pleasant.
From the 1930s to the early 1960s this was a grand, old-style, chic hotel. But it's grandeur has faded and now it is a very average hotel, with a great frontage and lots of old photos of very dated celebrities. Our room, a classic double was cramped and plain. There is a minibar (which we never use) but no tea/coffee facility, which we would have appreciated. Overall it's ok, but at the price (which was heavily discounted anyway) it was not great value compared to what is on offer in many other places.
