The owners live in the house next door and are a great source of information about the island in general and Bois-Plage-en-Ré in particular. They are wonderful hosts and we very much enjoyed getting to know them. But they will respect your privacy if you do not want to interact with them. The house is located about a ten-minute walk (or five-minute bicycle ride) away from the center of Bois-Plage-en-Ré where restaurants, bars, a post office, a pharmacy, a newsstand, the daily market and a grocery store (Carrefour Contact) can be found. The distance to some of the best sandy beaches (busy ones or quiet ones) on the island is about 10 minutes by bike. The house itself is well designed and styled, is well equipped and the living/dining room is light-flooded due to the glass door front opening onto the lovely patio. The patio is equipped with lounge chairs, a large table and two parasols. One can hear the nearby road traffic, but not to the extent that it bothered us in any way. Summing it all up, we can strongly recommend renting this lovely house. We look forward to returning soon. ##### Joachim v. La terrasse et le jardin sont magnifiques et on peut y manger et se détendre tranquillement. Accès facile à la plage et au village (environ 10 minutes à pied). La plage est énorme et impressionnante. Dans le village il y a un grand marché quotidien et on trouve tous les commerces qu’il faut: supermarché, boulangerie, bureau de poste, pharmacie, cafés restaurants etc. C’est facile à visiter, en bus (1€) ou à vélo, les autres charmants villages de l’île. Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques et ils nous ont réservé un accueil très chaleureux. Ils ont fait de leur mieux pour s’assurer que nous passions des vacances merveilleuses. The beach and village are close by (about 10 mins walk) The beach is huge and impressive. In the village you will find a brilliant daily market and all the shops you need: supermarket, bakers, post office, pharmacy, cafes, restaurants etc. It’s easy to visit the other gorgeous villages on the island by bus (1€0 or by bike. L' endroit est très calme. Peut être un tout petit (mais vraiment petit !) bémol avec le bruit de la route en fonction de certaines heures de la journée. Extérieur très agréable et particulièrement bien entretenu. Nous avons été très gentiment accueilli par Mme Monvoisin. Nous lui avions demandé si elle disposait d'une chaise haute pour notre bébé. Comme elle n'en avait pas elle en a acheté une! Nous n'en demandions pas tant mais nous avons vraiment apprécié! Lors de notre séjour, le temps de couvrant, la propriétaire nous a apporté un étendoir pour que nous puissions faire sécher notre linge en intérieur. Une nouvelle marque de gentillesse.
