I had reserved a non smoking king room. I was given a double queen smoking room. Check in took 1.5 hours to get into a smoke free room, still 2 queens. The beds were very uncomfortable. Worst sleep I've had in years.

Good Location. Not on the strip and was very quie

Pros: The pool area was beautiful with a definite beach feeling. Several pools could accomodate a crowd. Closing time was too early
Cons: drapes looked dirty and could use an update
Check in was timely even with a line waiting. We got 2 queen beds instead of a king which was nice because my husband snores. The room was adequate , but nothing special. It was nice to have a fridge in the room.

This hotel is definately not a 4 star quality hotel as advertised. I will not stay here again. Many better quality hotels in Vegas in same price range.

Convenient to downtown Las Vegas.

Prices very reasonable compared to those charged on the strip. Provides a shuttle to and from the strip so one does not need to move their car or hire a taxi. Selection of restaurants within the complex is very diversified. Rooms where very roomy, clean, comfortable, well stocked refrigerator and house keeping very cooperative.

Better Than Expected!

Pros: Large room, friendly staff, great Wi-Fi connection
Cons: The hotel (as with many of the strip hotels) is a getting a little older. But they make up for this with the exceptional cleanliness.
Location: About a 5-minute drive from the strip makes it a very convenient location if you have a rental car. They also offer complimentary shuttles.
Based on the low reviews, I didn't expect much. The first thing that jumps out is the large size of the room. While the interior is a little older, it is exceptionally clean and comfortable. The second thing that stood out was the staff. I was AMAZED at how many different staff went out of their way to smile and initiate a conversation. From cocktail waitresses, to money cage employees, to cleaning staff, even down to Enrico who gave a beautiful shoe shine. As a side note, the outfits the cocktail waitresses wear are the best of the many hotels I have stayed at, and they do this without being too much if you were here with your family. Very tasteful. The only down side to the Rio is that it is not directly on the strip. The front desk did offer complimentary shuttles to many places, but I did not use these since I had a rental car. If you have a rental car for your trip, this is definitely a great place to stay.
