Great value for the money

Posted 24-Sep-2016
Pros: It was very nice, with Margaritaville right in the hotel and I absolutely loved the garden with the real flamingos and other birds - very beautiful.
Cons: Renovate the rooms, add a fridge.
Location: It was in the perfect location, right in the middle of the strip and we could walk to all the other major hotels and stores.
Fabulous time and would go back. Everyone was very friendly and the service was great.

Location!

Posted 24-Sep-2016
Location was great, center of the strip. Found the casino level smoker than moat other hotels on the strip and a little more rundown. Great room, no issues with the elevators or check in.

Always Fun at the Flamingo, but Starting to Age...

Posted 23-Sep-2016
Pros: The Pool and Sports Book
Cons: Hotel Rooms can be modernized
My experience at the Flamingo is always a fun one. I enjoyed the close walking proximity to The LINQ, Caesars Palace, and the row of shops and restaurants leading to the High Roller. The pool can be quite the scene. However, I noticed that the hotel, especially the rooms, is starting to age. It's still a great hotel and casino. Would be nice if they performed some upgrades...starting with modernizing the hotel rooms.

Center of the strip

Posted 23-Sep-2016
Pros: Location, baggage service, parking
Cons: Wi-fi signal, room fixes, not charging hotel guests for the pool
We stayed at the Flamingo for a bachlorette weekend in mid September, the prices were higher than we had hoped but I guess fairly reasonable given the location. Upon check in, we asked for an upgrade and were able to get one for a reasonable price however, it put us on the top floor where there was limited cell phone reception and none of our phones were able to pick-up the wi-fi signal. The recent updates and the size of the room was nice, but there were still some damages in the bathroom that had not been fixed, which took away from the experience. Our upgraded room had a couch but it was not a pull-out couch which would have been nice by providing us with extra sleeping space. One major disappointment is that they charge a "resort fee" of nearly $40 a night but on Saturdays they charge an additional $20 for hotel guests to get into the main pool - rip off! We were not happy about that at all and instead spent a short while at the all -ages pool but it certainly didn't have the same vibe. All in all, we had a good time staying here but it could have been a 5 star experience had they not tried to add additional charges.

Ridiculously expensive!!

Posted 23-Sep-2016
Pros: The rooms were comfortable enough. Great location
Cons: Prices!!! Let's not be so greedy and charge ridiculously expensive prices.
Location: Centrally located but bring good walking shoes as everything looks a lot closer than it actually is.
The hotel itself was ok, however I felt forced to spend way too much money on the little things. #1. You cannot bring any food or drinks into the pool area. But it costs a minimum of $17 for a small drink and you cannot refill you must purchase new every time. Small bottle of water was just under $5. You can purchase the same bottles at the store for $9 for 12 bottles, absolutely ridiculous prices. We had the buffet one time and the price was horrendous. The other food options were fast food court (prices extremely high for what you get) or an expensive restaurant. The hotel itself is centrally located and the Donny and Marie show is fantastic! The rooms are outdated but comfortable enough. I'm not familiar with other hotels so they maybe all expensive. I would have appreciated knowing all the extra costs before going.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

Posted 23-Sep-2016
Pros: nothing
Cons: everything
I stayed here for 1 night over Labor Day weekend.I used the kiosk to check in, because the line was extremely long and slow. i would not recommend staying here in the first place, but in the unfortunate case that you have to stay here (and again, never stay here), don't use the kiosk. My guess is that they give away the worst rooms this way.We were assigned a room on the 6th floor overlooking the alley shops. The room was super old, but I knew the Flamingo was old. Then, everything went downhill.First, the toilet did not work. After it flushed, the bowl took about 15 mins.to refill, it was loud, and water sprayed all over the seat. It was disgusting and bizarre. I called to tell them and they said a plumber would fix it.A plumber never came in the 6 hrs we were gone. When we came back,I called again and they asked if they should send a plumber. I knew one would never come so what was the point. The thermostat does not work. The room was about 50 degrees and there are no blankets.I called for blankets and I about 6 linens delivered and they were wet.At night, when we returned, we heard booming noise from some bar or club in the alley. It felt like we were in the club. I called downstairs to ask when the club shut down and when the noise would go down and the response was uh, 3:30 or 4, or 4:30am. Uh what!! It was awful. They offered earplugs because "no other rooms are available." The earplugs never came, I called and asked and they said they didn't know if they had any.WORST hotel!!

Lots of Extra Fees

Posted 23-Sep-2016
Pros: Location was perfect and centrally located on the strip, grounds were beautiful and park like. Loved the flamingos.
Cons: Finish updating the rooms and quit charging all the extra fees.
Location: Margaritaville is close, the High Roller is right next door, some nice shops behind the hotel. Plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby.
Room was clean and comfortable, but they should have finished updating. The bathroom was only partially updated with a nice countertop, fresh wallpaper and light fixtures, but the cabinet underneath the countertop, the floor and the tub/shower needed replacing. I'm not quite sure why every room is charged a resort fee of $32.48 per day for phone calls, use of the fitness center, and wi-fi? Why charge everyone and not just those that use it? On top of that, we were told if we wanted to get into the adult pool it would be an additional $10.90 per person (the family pool was free). Family pool drink prices were $8 for Miller lite and $17 for a drink - pretty pricey. It was in a good location, lots of shops in the hotel, comfortable bed. Plenty of money spent in their casino - do they really need to charge all the extra fees?
