Nice hotel close to the beach

Posted 18-Aug-2015
Good stay with young kids. Room was OK and clean. Run a bath in under 2 minutes, brilliant! Swimming pool good. Food cheap and good. Entertainment on a night good. Great for the price. Would return again and recommend. Kids loved it.

Faulty Towers

Nothing good to say about it. Room was scruffy, things falling off the walls, very dated hotel, food was awful, entertainment was boring. Pleased I was only here for one night.

Good friendly helpful staff.

This hotel is tired and old looking and in need of updating, however the staff were great and the rooms were clean, perfectly adequate for a short stay if you are not looking for luxury. I thought £93 for a Saturday night was expensive but we booked at short notice.

At the far end of Blackpool

Posted 11-Aug-2015
This hotel was very busy when we arrived with no parking to the front .the room was not particularly clean. The wallpaper was falling off the walls and there was dirt on the woodwork. We were in a room with a wet room. It advised to place a mat on the floor when using the shower. When I asked the maid for one . She said to use a towel. We dined in the new restaurant it was well priced .

Satisfactory

We only stayed for a night, the room we was given had no view. Was small but sufficient. The pool, sauna and hot tub were nice. One member of hotel staff was quite rude however we seen another the following day which was lovely.

Nice Break

Posted 03-Aug-2015
Pros: Price, Staff, Food, Pool, Showers, Parking and convenience
Cons: Updating in general although our room had just been painted.
Location: Out of the way at north end of Blackpool, quiet area, but convenient bus and tram stops at door. £10 all day family bus/tram ticket.
This hotel needs some work to update it, saying that the staff were friendly and the food was very good. The room was clean and had most things required and as for the price it cannot be beaten. The swimming pool was open until late/early something that does not usually happen, with a time for adults only. Very hot showers with good pressure. We wanted an overnight stay in Blackpool to meet up with family and it suited us perfectly. We did not stay in for the entertainment but that was also included. I don't know how a hotel of his size manages to charge such a low rate. Bus and Tram stop at the door, in fact at night the no 12 actually drives into the grounds to the door of reception.

Hotel was fine and staff were amazing, only problem was getting access to bedrooms, you first have to get the lift to your floor then walk around corners before you then have to go downstairs to get to the bedroom which is not accessible for a family with a pushchair and luggage, luckily when returning to reception they were able to move us to a more accessible room.

Join a real life episode of Faulty Towers!

Posted 22-Jul-2015
Pros: room size good, bathroom clean, jacuzzi bath, vending machine to buy crisps and chocolate for your evening meal car parking
Cons: Demolish the hotel and rebuild it!!, no minor repair of decoration is going to make any difference to this place.
Location: right on the seafront, tram across the road, quiet area but not far from the centre
We had a truly epic stay, it`s like staying in a real life episode of faulty towers, it`s a three star hotel, it`s massive yet the restaurant opens at 5.30pm and closes at 7.30pm, yes 2 hours!!, after 7.30 the staff hand you a takeaway pizza menu and you call for a takeaway...Really!!! The hotel was beautifully decorated....in 1964 and stayed the same since!.....the floor in reception is like a rollercoaster it has hills! If you get a room at the far side of the hotel, you will need a map or take a satnav as you will never find your way back to freedom, its a total maze with poor signposting The reception was surprised in the morning that I wanted towels in my room, they seemed to think that you dont need towels! Breakfast advertised on Expedia advert at 5 Pounds each, but it is actually 8.50 each Despite the above, the price was good and the rooms were ok, it was really funny watching the goings on in reception, you couldnt get a better comedy show in Blackpool! Internet in reception and close by only
